  1. I know some of these have already been said but here's my list:

    •
    • Bring back the outside temperature to the main screen.
    • Display song information on the home menu
    • Have play/pause/next track/prev track controls accessible for CD/ Bluetooth/SD/MP3 from the main menu, not just the entertainment hub
    • When pausing a song, don't make the audio controls disappear in the entertainment menu.
    • Update the Sirius text labels. Include information for when they change select channels during the holiday season(ie Change BBC Radio One to Studio 54, Change Love to Holly during Christmas season, etc.)
    • Update support for more mobile broadband USB devices.

  2. Not a conspiracy theorist...just a pessimist. Especially after seeing a lot of decision companies big and small make to try to cover up problems/issues. Just from an logical perspective, if most portable GPS use the same speed processor or better I don't see how you can reasonably expect this one to do that much more. It also didn't sit well with me that in the one video I saw of the new software the car is clearly not moving but when they show nav the vehicle is moving down the road. Again I really hope I am wrong.

There's a mode on the nav that allows you to demo the route. I'm sure that's what they used when they were showing off the new software.

  3. Same thing out here.

I'm in Montreal, Canada and I took possession of my brand new 2011 Edge Limited on August 31st.

The plastic box containing the nav card says : "Map Version A1" and I read the SD card on my PC and the data file is also dated from "Dec 16th 2010" but on the text file the map are listed as from June 2nd 2010 and not counting that there are not from 2010, but at the most from 2007 in my area.

    The text file says : " Countries=US,CA - Map=20100602 - Nuance=20100602 - Gracenote=20100318"

Hope Ford will update the data soon because for example, the area where I live is 4 to 7 years old and only the older part (6-7 years) are on the Ford nav system.

On my TomTom, I went thru 4 free full map update during the same period and a few hundreds of "community update" ...

P.S. : For info, the whole card contains 14,1 Gb of data

Those sound like the current SD stock SD cards that were avaliable with last year's model. Thanks for the info guys!

  4. I was hoping not to have to do this after 1 day of ownership - but, here I am. I'm used to a first gen sync, so I understand it takes some time before data is available, but after two hour stints, I'm figuring I have a problem.

2012 Limited with My Touch. Only weather and traffic sections have hour glasses next to them constantly. (ski report, sports, gas prices are ok). If I click on the selection, I get the waiting for data message, and then back to the selection screen with the hour glasses.

Any ideas or help very much welcome!

Yeha it's quite common for me too. You're best bet is to rither perform a hard reset (pull fuse 29) or perform the delayed reboot (the program that came with the SYNC voice command fix) I would advise you to do the delayed reboot first if you have any Sirius Alerts setup since pulling the fuse will erase those.

  5. Well it is the wifes car so i am the one that hears it. But it is definately not the vents....sounds very much like road/wind noise. But what is weird is that I don't hear that much noise when in the car so I can't see how the mic is picking up something I don't really hear myself.

That's what mine sounded like until I pointed the middle vents downward. Once I did this the wind noise dropped considerably.
