  1. I emailed them but the don't list an Edge on their website. I doubt they make one.

I Googled SCT and found SCTflash.com but the tuners don't come loaded with a canned map and one needs to be custom dyno'd and programmed.

I'll see what Torrie says. Thanks for the info much appreciated!

  2. I have a 2013 I'd like to go stage 1 with. Intake, exhaust and computer remap for added fuel and advanced timing to run 93 octane. I normally opt for Diablo but they don't make one for the Edge. I want to be certain I can find a tuner before I bother with modifying. I suppose I could add the KN intake, which will lean it out a little and add a few ponies, but I wanted to go a full stage 1. Ill email that contact and see if they make one. Thanks.

  3. Anyone make a tuner for the 3.5? I'm on my IPad and it's slow and took too long running a search so sorry if this is a repeat question. I'm sure it is. Thanks.

  4. I am waiting for a tuner to come out so I can really get some juice from the motor. I have 26k miles on it now and it is feeling more and more responsive. I had an H&R racing spring kit installed. That lowered the car about 2 inches and leveled it out and now it handles like a Corvette :)

If anyone hears any news about a tuner, please share.

  5. Don't you think I would have gotten a factory installed towing package if one was available?

Ford does NOT offer a tow package on the EcoBoost.

Etrailer has Drawtite and Hidden Hitch. It fits my vehicle perfectly and is hardly visible. The car is only rated for 1500 pounds, so a tranny cooler isn't necessary. Not much you can tow with that wight limit. My motorcycle and race bicycles, which is all I needed it for to begin with.

  6. Yes it is very frustrating. I've been looking all over. Nobody makes one. I had Uhaul try and mount a 2011 hitch to my 2012 and it wouldn't fit because of a fuel line routed in the way. They'd best make one soon because I have a bicycle racing team and bought this for the team. I've got several hitch racks and trailers for the team. The salesperson lied to me and told me he called the parts department and the hitch was 299.00, all the time knowing that one wasn't available.

  7. Hey I like being the first member. Here I am ready to talk about stuff like "hoe come nobody makes an accessory trailer hitch for my Edge" and "does anyone think they will ever make a tuner"?

So let's get some other members joined so we can start modding!!!

  8. I am with you. There is no way I would pay a dealer $500 to install a hitch. I have no definitive answer to your question, but there are no 4 cylinder models of the Edge prior to your 2012 Ecoboost. All previous generation Edges came with the 3.5L or 3.7L V6's. Regardless, I am guessing that the undercarriage would be the same on all models as a cost saving measure.

Ah, you're right. There were no other 4 cylinders. Then I wonder if the 2011 V6 hitch would fit on the 2012 4, or if there are exhaust mods that may cause the hitches to be different.

I need to get one right away though so I just might take a chance and order the 2011 hitch....hmmm, decisions decisions

  9. I just bought a 2012 Ecoboost Edge and I need to have a hitch installed. The dealer subs the install out and charges 500 bucks. Uhaul did my Charger RT for 200 and did a fantastic job.

I'd like to use Uhaul again, but nobody seems to have a hitch for a 2012 EDGE SEL Ecoboost because the model is too new. I've called a few places including Hidden Hitch.

They all ask if the 2011 4 cylinder model will fit the 2012 4 cylinder Ecoboost.

Are the undercariage designs between the 2011 regular 4 cylinder and the 2012 turbo 4 cylinder the same? Or is there a different exhaust or frame configuration?

    Thanks,

    Tom

  10. Yes it has the same dual exhaust tips. As far as its smoothness compared to a naturally aspirated motor, turbo charged engines have their own funny way of running. They are not smooth, the power comes on fast and strong as the RPMs increase.

My last car was a 420 horsepower Dodge Charger RT moderatly modified. I dragged it for an entire season and took 3rd place overall. Gas guzzling pig though and I do a lot of traveling now with my mountain biking team so I needed something to suit this hobby.

Turbo charged motors though, in my opinion, are fun lively power plants. I test drove the V6 Edge before I test drove the turbo and I liked the turbo a lot more. It is more reponsive initially, has more intant low end torque and is much faster when the gas pedal is pressed to the floor. The V6 is smoother but is lack luster and dull.

I took the Edge to Miami the day I bought it and averaged 33 mpg on the highway during the 60 mile trip. Good gas mileage AND decent power with a fun lively engine....I love it!
