  1. I used to have to disconnect the battery over night once a week to get the POS Myfordtouch to reset. Nothing much happens. I have had to do it so many times I dont even bother settings stuff back up anymore. I think some of the settings on the left screen, like door lock key chain pushes and the expanded trip meter reset. You might as well go ahead and do it. You are gonna have to disconnect the battery sometime. This way you will know what stays and what resets each time you disconnect the battery, that way you can decide if it is worth it. I think the radio stations and the saved NAV destinations stay.

  2. I think your missing a step. I am assuming your have a "rolling code" opener. Don't worry about what that is. When you used the the handheld opener near the visor you told the car one of the 2 things it needs to know. The next step is to tell the garage door about your car. There is probabably a little button under the light cover on the opener. I am gonna GUESS, you press that little button, then the car button, then the car button a second time.

  3. I have not driven my car since doing the update, but it seems to respond faster to a touch on the screen the temp is back next to the clock. The update took 30-40 minutes erased my phone and the wifi settings, but did not effect my navigation favorites but reset the radio stations.

  4. I am wondering if you touched something (seemingly unrelated) in MFT that affected your texts. Master Reset.....? On a possibly related note, I had a few little things that I thought changed after a few days of using the system. I dont really remember, they were minor and the change was better. But I remember thinking "oh, that is new."

  5. Mine had a noise that kinda sounded like a wind noise. I spent a lot of time chasing it myself. I found that what sounded like an air leak around the front edge of the front window was actually the parts number tag blowing in the wind on the front strut coil spring.

  6. Dont buy a MFT product!!!! It will make you mad every single day!!! Maybe the new software will fix it, maybe not. Wait to see what "real" people say when they see it. I like tech stuff, I like setting up tech stuf. I hate the MFT, it doesnt work worth a damn and crashes almost once a day especially if you have been trying to use it. If this thing was a phone they would have had them all returned. I am not very price senstive and price had very little to do with the car I picked. I picked a MFT car cause I though the MFT was a plus, it is not. It is a huge minus. Dont buy one! You have been warned!!

  7. Don't buy a car with the current MFT. It will make you angry anytime you drive. I would wait to see peoples review of the update. I am so sorry I bought this car. I have been trying to figure out how to get rid of it since it had 1000 miles on it. I would trade it in, but in 4000 miles it is now worth 18,000 under the sticker.

  8. What version should I be watching for?

    Thanks JD

2.11 is the most recent bad software version. So something greater than that would be a good sign. To upgrade from to version 2.11 all you really had to do was stick a memory stick in the car and let the car run for an hour. It sounds like the "big fix" is going to be the same thing. To be honest, I hate this car. I would not have bought it if I knew that any interaction with the MyF'dupTouch would make me angry. In your position, I would not take the car till I saw the new version of Myfordtouch. If the new version still crashes daily and cant McDonald's faster than driving down any road till you pass one I would find a non-ford car.
