  1. Hi stoushr. :D Although you have not been back to respond, MrHappy is 100% correct and I should be severely chastised for overlooking that possibility.

If you did not properly size your new wheel/tire combination, your speedometer/odometer may be off calibration. That speedometer/odometer error could appear to add to the inherent mpg penalties that usually come with larger diameter wheel and tires.

You can use the Tire Size Calculator found here: LINK: Tire Size Calculator to calculate the difference between your old versus new speedometer/odometer calibrations. Simply input your old wheel diameter/tire size and your new wheel diameter/tire size and the calculator will list the percentage difference in the overall diameter and speedometer/odometer error between your old and new setups.

Let us know what you find out.

    Good luck. :beerchug:

  2. OK, HERE IS MY PROBLEM. I HAVE A 07 EDGE. ORIGINALLY I WAS GETTING AROUND 17 MPG IN CITY. OK, I CAN HANDLE THAT. (17'' TIRES/RIMS)

THEN I GOT A REAL GOOD DEAL ON SOME TIRES AND RIMS BUT THEY ARE 20''

I PUT THEM ON AND THE " TIRE PRESSURE FAULT LITE CAME ON"*.. GUY AT LOCAL TIRE SHOP, RESET THE COMPUTER WITH THE NEW TIRES AND WHEELS.

BUT THEN, GAS MILEAGE DROPPED DOWN TO 14 MPG.

I MEAN IS THAT POSSIBLE? THAT THERE IS THAT MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE?

    NOW WHAT DO I DO?

    PUT OLD TIRES BACK ON?

  3. just made it to 5500 miles on odometer and bang. the trans started to slip. especially from 1st to 2nd. like it was in neutral and no power. the rpm's were high. also when parked and put it in drive. it would not go and then it grabbed, HARD>

so off i went to dealer and now have a rental.

    will let you know.

  4. i have been keeping track manually with fuel mileage. about 99% city driving and around 13-14.5 mpg.

i dont look at the console with the read out.(it is not accurate at all)

usually it is ranging around 135-145 miles per half tank.

i dont have a heavy foot.

i am going for my first oil change. 3000miles on it.

i have the faith it will improve with time and miles.

  5. we just did a tyler texas to jacksonville florida trip

running 77.2 mostly according to gps and we squeezed out a very nice average of 21.6 mpg

and it got better the faster we drove, the tank with the most 78-80 mph speeds gained 21.8

  6. have about just over 2000 miles and i have not seen 16mpg. i baby this car. slow takes off. i dont gun it at all. i do mostly city driving and have not seen 16mpg. usually around 14. 14.5. i did take one road trip and got around 22.5. and that was around 1000 miles on it.

i took it to the dealer concerning the terrible gas mileage. (sticker says 18.) they put in on the reader and says there is nothing showing. says there is a break in period. well, i am still waiting! i dont look at the dash read out. i calculate it by hand. they both never match.

i absolutely love the car but the fuel consumption is killing me. about 140 miles per half tank.(14.0 per gallon)

    any one else have this!

usually when i find another edge driver, i ask them how is there gas mileage and they really dont know, they dont check it!

CAN ANYONE HELP ME AND SAY IT IS GOING TO GET BETTER! AT LEAST UP TO 16-17 MPG

  7. We do many trips from LA to Vegas and Arizona. Usually average about 25-26 at fwy speeds. However, once you go above 80mph, the mileage starts decreasing significantly. A strong headwind has been the only thing that has greatly dropped HWY mpg.

i have just over 2000 miles and mostly do city driving. i just about baby this car and i have not seen 16mpg at all. take offs are slow. did one road trip and got about 23mpg. took it to the dealer concerning this false ad on the mpg. checked out car and says nothing is reading on the codes. they said it still has to break in. that i dont believe. absolutely love the car but wish it would get at least 16mpg. will keep hoping it improves.
