  1. Mines been perfect since adjusting the latch and replacing latch mechanism. I don't know how software is part of this. There has not been any ill effect by mechanically adjusting and replacing these items?? Maybe I just lucked out? If Ford shouldn't have fixed mine like they did, well, that's why there's a warranty? Maybe u guys should have your dealer call my service writer at my dealer? You never know....

  2. In November of last year I purchased my first ever Lincoln and fell in love with my 2012 MKX. I love everything about the car BUT the darn MFT/Navi/BLUETOOTH experience. It really bothers me that Ford would release a system with so many bugs. I know the update is coming out but this just isnt fair. I spent $50,000+ on this vehicle and I can't even trust it. Some days my Navi will give me "SD Card" errors and just stop working. Sometimes everything on my screen will disappear. Some days it takes a good 20 minutes for it to load up. A few weeks ago I planned to do some traveling and 1/4 through the trip the navi stopped working completely and I had to rely on my cell phone to find where I was going. The touch screen is very slow and sometimes non responsive. Also having issues with the climate control. Dont know why hot air will come out of one vent and cold out of the other when I am trying to heat my car up. The bluetooth just sucks as no one can ever hear me and they always complain of a high pitched winding noise that apparently moves according to if I am accelerating or not. Plenty of other problems but I just dont want to waste any more time bitching about the low quality of the system in this "luxury" car I purchased...

    Yep. Disappointing indeed. My dealer told me to just bring it in again to reset everything, but say I have to wait til end of March before I can enjoy my new ford edge with working correctly MFT ?? Crazy Ford is getting away with this

  3. bah. guess we have to wait then. i just picked up my new 2012 sport today. :)

     

    My MFT froze again and gave me a navigation fault? I spoke to dealer today and was told end of March for new software! Crap! This MFT really is bad. I'm tired of slowness, frozen screens, and unreliability of system. Ford really pissed me off with this MFT, and to make it worse, they are really advertising MFT to be great in recent tv commercials?? Seriously?

  4. You're conveniently forgetting the iphone 4 antenna fiasco plus other iphone problems. I like apple products but they're not perfect either. And the problem with MFT is the application, not the operating system. And trust me - I hate microsoft but they're really not to blame in this case. It's all on Ford and Bsquare.

     

    Well, I'm one of the lucky ones that have the newest iPhone model without any problems. I know apple isn't perfect, but their OS is pretty intuitive, especially in the iPad. Very fast too. I do blame Ford also, because they clearly new this MFT system was buggy. How could they have not?

  5. I love the car even though it has had the rear hatch closing issue and couple MFT freezes. It was in the shop 3 times in the first two weeks of ownership. The ecoboost is very cool and the car is great looking and fun to drive. The MFT just needs to be fixed. If apple put their IPhone platform in this car, it would be perfect!! Sorry, but I've just become a huge apple fan this last year with the IPhone and ipad2. My Microsoft systems at work give me headaches all week. The last thing I want is the same Microsoft crap in our car. So, I'm somewhat satisfied with the car. I should have researched better before I bought , regarding MFT

  6. I agree. The car is great and very nice, but MFT just destroys the new ownership experience. I almost feel like the sales guy and Ford are not being truthful as they are still selling these cars with MFT. Shame. Class action suit is probably in the works

  7. Ok. We've had our 2012 ecoboost edge for 3 weeks now and love the driving experience and sportiness. But MFT has already crashed once. The dealer did some sort of update and works ok now. I've gotten used to the use of it now and like it more and more every day, but the slow response of controls really sucks. I can't believe Ford released such a terd of a system. I can't wait for updated 2013 software. If the new version fixes the MFT issues, then this car will be near perfect. Just my take on it.

  8. As this is a new vehicle under warranty, I recommend getting video documentation of this problem. In the video, remember to keep a nice pleasant tone, say your name, the date, time, and a description of the problem as it occurs on the video. Frankly, ANY problem with your new vehicle should be documented this way, as it can help the repair facility to see the problem should they be unable to reproduce it. You never know if you'll need the proof. I was naive and let the dealer and Ford put me off for over a year. Unfortunately for Ford, I had proof from multiple repair records and I was able to capture video on my phone of recurring MFT problems.

     

    Ford gets four shots to fix a warranty item in my State before a good attorney will clean up. It's just business, cover your butt because Ford will cover theirs.

  9. UPdate: Yesterday, still no problems with rear gate? I tried it several times, and works great. My fingers are crossed for now. I am getting used to My Ford Touch now, and only complaint is the computer sometimes responds slowly. I will let you guys know if I get any more word from Ford or if it starts screwing up again. Have a great weekend!!

  10. Back from dealer yesterday. They moved latch to forward most position and said their engineers are aware of problem but do not have a fix yet. It hasn't had the problem today so we will report back to dealer if it happens again. Pretty frustrating. So to recap, been to dealer three times now for same problem. They replaced the entire latch mechanism on second visit and moved the latch to full forward adjustment yesterday on third visit. They finally got confirmation through Oasis there is a known issue with the power gate. The service writer told me he will call me when he has update from Ford. Today it's working fine. I really love this car and really hope this can be fixed.
