  1. We think a lot alike bro, the only reason I am getting it is because of the sound. It's a beautiful thing!

(Thought I'd post my reply from another CAI thread here as well)

"To start, I'm lurking on this forum, because I'm planning to lease a '12 Sport when my '08 Infiniti G35x lease ends this month. I like what I have been reading so far on the Edge.

To the topic at hand, I installed a CAI on both of my Chrysler 300c's (HEMI V8) and loved them. I have no empirical data to support it but the data from my seat-of-my-pants-o-meter says it helped improve throttle response and low end torque. I'm fairly sure it was all in my head, but the awesome sound it put out during WOT (wide open throttle) sure made me and anyone driving near me think it did. (Amusing side note: I bought the Mopar CAI for $299.00 in 2004, used it for 4 years and sold it on ebay for $240.00! The price for an identical new one had gone up by almost $100). I would have put CAIs on my current '08 Infiniti G35x but I would have had to buy two of them. The Nissan 3.5L V6 has two separate intakes.

Bottom line on a CAI, don' buy it because you think it will give you a noticeable / measurable increase in performance, most likely it won't. But DO! buy it because of the fun sound it will put out at WOT. You'll get a good sound that"s a hell of a lot less expensive and easier to install than an exhaust system swap out. You should b e able to get a good portion of the cost back when you decide to switch to another car and sell the CAI.

If I do wind up getting an Edge Sport (or any other car for that matter), it's a certainty that I'll have a CAI installed in it before I fill up my gas tank for the first time."
