  1. I might have an answer for you regarding " creek and moan around the windshield". I had a squeak coming from the bottom edge of the windshield on the passenger side. A little investigating showed me that there are 3 metal clips that run along the bottom edge of the windshield on the outside. When they're dry the squeaking starts especially with any body roll like going up a driveway. Take off the plastic screens along the bottom of the windshield and squirt a little oil on the clips. Done!
  2. My 2007 Edge is doing the same thing with 85,000 K on it. Base on a few other items I've read, it could very well be a faulty coil/plug. Remember, that engine has one coil per plug. The mechanic should be able to diagnose the problem with it plugged in while driving.
  3. If it happens while the A/C is running it's coming from the orifice in the evaporator. The noise can be described as a "whistle" and it's generated as fluid passes thru the opening. It's a high frequency vibration of the orifice that's producing the noise. It will get louder when the compressor kicks in and then dies off slowly as the pressure reduces when the pump turns off. I tried to get mine fixed prior to the end of the warranty with 2 different dealers. The bozos didn't know anything and could not understand what was going on. Now I'm well past the warranty period, it's summer and it's whistling away. I turn up the volume on the radio to drown it out.
