  1. I would also like to see a few hitches on the 2011+ Edges. Whatever brand I install, I want to make sure ya can't see any of the hitch's cross-member. Are most of you cutting a square out of the rear plastic on the 2011+ SEL's? I know that the Drawtite & Hidden looked really nice on the 2010 and below.

Think you're asking for wayyyyyyyy too much from a standard hitch manufacturer. Your best approach if all of that is so important is to go with a custom-made hitch.

The manufacturers are also looking at a "low install time" as that appeals highly to many, many buyers. And most buyers of Class Three (aftermarket) hitches understand that the hitch is not going to appear to be "hidden" after installation.

    Good Luck however.

PS - For the rest of you considering an AFTERMARKET hitch, the Curt A) Works well, B) Is VERY well made and C) Is EASY to install. Can ask for more for less than $ 140 delivered. And for those interested, (My disclaimer) I have on interest whatsoever in the Curt Manufacturing Company nor am I compensated in anyways for my comments.

  2. Can you guys post pictures of your trailer hitches and say what trailer hitch brand, part number, and vehicle year so we all know what they look like? There are so many topics talking about the Curt hitch or others that don't have pictures of them installed. I think this would be useful for anyone who is shopping for a hitch.

Here is the etrailer site that has the different brands (without pictures of it installed)

    http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2011_Ford_Edge.htm

    Thanks!

I guess I am confused. CURT makes about the only QUALITY hitch. You get an easy-to-install hitch for about $138 DELIVERED from various ellers on Ebay. The hitch functions totally properly. Sellers also offer the quality CURT wiring harness you might need if you're gonna tow a trailer. The hitch is A) Easy to install (45-60 mins); B) is CLASS THREE for excellent towing ability; C) "Looks" good looking at it from the rear; D) is a Quality product from an American company. Not a lot else to know.

Good Luck. Mike Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA

PS - If a decrepit 67 year old man can take time out from Bass fishing to do this install, ya GOTTA know it ain't too difficult.

  3. Hello,

I bought the door handles for a 2011 Lincoln MKX for my 2011 Limited. The part numbers are as follows:

    Front handle - BA1Z-7822404-B

    Bezel(Passenger front & both rear doors) - BA1Z-78218B08-A

Total cost at whole sale was $460.

  4. Cool, thanks for the tip. Ill refrain from the purchase.

Sad that this item gets so many Bad Reviews.

We actually love ours. It functions well, and is so very easy to use.

It does what we wanted and looks good too. The fact it is "flexible" is a big plus.

And there ARE times when we wanna "disconnect" it which only take a couple of seconds.

So please know there are some of us who give this VERY useful Accessory a BIG "Thumbs Up!"

  5. Sirius just offered me one year subscription for 81.00!!!!

That's the STANDARD rate for 1 year ($81) - At least in the U.S.

If they balk, tell the phone clerk you got an email from XM/Sirrius offering you 6 months for $ 24.95 (+ Tax) - and you want that deal.

That's what I pay. I call every 5.9 months, cancel and then they offer to renew me for the "same deal."

Of course, after 6 months, this l plan REVERTS back to the month-to-month rate ! So you have to be vigilant on renewals/cancaellations.

Good Luck regardless what you choose.

  6. Hello Does the antenna work as well as the ugly stock one??? Thanks

Unless I am wrong, I believe already three (3) of us have already answered this. It works superbly. And ours may be the best test since we are in Never-never Land and the reception from Atlanta is EXACTLY the same (100 miles away).

And for gosh sakes, it ain't like it'll break anyone ..... It only costs $36.00. If anyone is concerned about reception, stick with wut ya got.[

  7. I ordered mine from a seller on ebay. Who is obviously a Mini-Cooper authorized dealer.

The seller's price was $2+ less than Amazon. His price is $ 36.00 Delivered.

Ordered FRIDAY for the Edge. Came in the USPS mail today ! (Monday) - To middle Georgia.

Arrived in a Factory Fresh Mini-Cooper box.

    Took 3 mins to replace.

You NEED the little threaded insert that is enclosed in the packaging.

AND ....... You need a step ladder …… But no other tools.

I put the Factory antenna in the glovebox – Just in Case.

    Works superbly.

    Hope this helps someone else.

To locate the CORRECT seller on ebay, do a search for: "MINI Cooper Sport Shorty Short Stubby Antenna Fits All"

Sellers name on eBAY is: prestigeminiofmahwah

  8. I am asking if anyone knows the FORD part numbers needed to convert our 2011 Edge Limited Door Handles to REAL CHROME ?

If someone cares to post this data, I surely would appreciate it.

I already know I'm gonna takes some "hits" over desiring Chrome, but I'm a chrome kinda guy. Must be an age thing.

Anyway, If anyone cares to share this info I surely would appreciate it.

I KNOW THE ANSWER MAY BE A LINCOLN SET OF PART NUMBERS - Which is just fine.

I just don't want to use a set of cheezy, $65 chromed ABS plastic covers.

Many thanks, Mike Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA

  9. Today I placed a good-sized LED lighting order with V-LED's (V_LEDS.com) on the advice of a Senior member here. I was already quite familiar with them from my Lexus forum.

I am replacing MOST of my lights on my 2011 EDGE with LED's. Both interior and exterior. So my order was fairly large. I discovered this discount coupon from V-LED's on their Facebook page.

    Here are the terms:

10% off for a min order of $20. CODE is: 23HOHF

15% off an order of $50 or more: CODE is: 0VWYU6 (1st digit is a ZERO).

Offer expires at 11:59 pm on March 31st.

This saved me $36 and change so it was really worth it.

I sincerely hope this helps someone else - :banvictory:
