  1. Nevrmind, I got it!! It's the sylvania longlife # 921 and it worked great. I went on the sylvania website at: http://www.sylvania....es/lrgmain.aspx

and chose the vehicle make, year, etc etc and it shows me all the available bulbs they offer.

The light is now replaced and works perfectly! It took less than 5 minutes! :)

  2. Hello All,

My white left reverse light (when I put the vehicle on reverse) seems to have burnt out on my 2010 Ford Edge SEL. The right one works ok.

I'm a newbie, should I bring this to my dealer to change, or can I do this myself? Is it difficult to do? Any special screwdrivers I need for this?

I see two screws, but usually isn't there 4 screws?

Would this type of thing be covered under my 5 year warranty?

What type of light do I need to buy?

Any help is deeply appreciated. (sorry for the newbie question!) :reading:

  3. Both Mercedes and BMW have a 1 year service interval. So I go 1 year without changing my oil which is 10 quarts and runs around $475 in Canada. Needless to say over the last year I have only driven about 1000 miles and my level 2 service is coming up for about $1,000. I think I get the tires checked and air filter changed for the B service interval.

Thanks! Do you get your service done at your ford dealer?

In BC, do you have to put winter tires? In quebec it's the law and we have to put winter tires.

  4. in the owners manual for my 2012 there is a section called scheduled maintenance. For changing it just says do not exceed 1 year or 10,000 miles.

Then it tells you when, with normal driving it says 7500-10,000 miles, severe driving, 5000-7499, and extreme 3000-4999

Thanks! The driving that we did the last 6 months since we changed the oil was 2500 miles, normal driving. So I think we're ok then to wait until October to change the oil again (which would make it one year since we changed the oil)

  5. I built and installed them myself and am now doing these daytime running light upgrades for others as a business. It seems like every Edge owner complains about how useless these lights are. So I figured I would satisfy the need by offering them to others. Instead of these lights beiun a weekness to the Edge's looks, they now make the car stsand out in a crowd. Click on the link in my signature below for more info. You can also send me a PM to get pricing.

cool ! congrads kc300c on that customization business! I always love hearing about entrepreneurs and how they turn their passion into successful businesses. Do those cool lights fit a Ford Edge SEL 2010 ?

Do your lights conform to canadian (or quebec) highway safety? In other words, can they be installed in quebec without any problem? (is the term "street legal" ?)

I am sure they are, but was just curious. This (Montreal) would be a good market for you (i see tons of ford edge's all over the place here in montreal, quebec)

  6. The factory oil is a synthetic blend and today's oils and engines are better than they used to be. Follow the owner's manual recommendation which I think is 5K miles.

Thanks! The concern I had is, is it 6 months OR 5000 miles?

So, I only drove 1875 miles in 6 months, so when I go the dealer to change to or from my winter tires every 6 months, is it ok that we didn't change the oil? Yes, it was a synthetic oil we got last time.

When we check into the dealer, they always ask us for the current mileage on the vehicle, would their computers at the Ford Service counter ALERT the customer AUTOMATICALLY that it's time to change the oil for that customer?

  7. Hello All,

On our Ford Edge SEL 2010, how often do we have to change the oil at the dealer ?

Our dealer said that these new vehicles have to be changed every 8000KM (not 5000km like it used to be)

Maybe I am old school, but I was brought up always to change the oil every 5000km ?

Why are these new vehicles every 15,000KM ?

  8. It looks to me like it is the whole bottom of the bumper. If that is the case it could have ripped some of the mounting points I would say you would need the entire front bumper, bottom piece, and lower grill. As far as the reference number I would say if they all share it, it is telling you that it is part of the bumper/grill family. To give you an idea my dad was a Yamaha dealer and all of the Yamaha snowmobile belts had the same number. The only difference was the first 3 digits the numbers just told you it was a belt and the first 3 digits such as 8DN told you which snowmobile it fit.

Thanks 11edgelimited ! Yes, I first thought it was just the grille but I thought the same thing about the mounting points.

I guess we're looking at about 2000$+ of damage?! Our insurance deduction is 500$ and we have to pay for the rental car because it's my wife's fault.

Anyhow will keep you guys posted on this in the next few days and weeks... this forum is really great!
