Hmm,...you've probably got an 8.5" wheel. Stock tire size is 245/50/20, you could probably put a 255/50/20 without too much problem. Anything wider wouldn't be advised.

Anyone know the wheel width on the SEL appearance package? I'm looking to put a wider wheel on it for looks. Any idea how wide I could safely go? Probably have to get a wider wheel to make a significant difference I'm thinking.

Wow. Hats off to ya, but that's more work than I'm prepared to invest. I wonder if a dealer or body shop would spray the plugs for a reasonable price? Think I'll call.

I want to remove the front license plate holder on my 2013 Deep Impact Blue Edge SEL. It has the appearance package, so the grill is blue. I'm trying to figure out how I can plug the holes and paint the plugs to match the paint. I'm thinking touch up would just be a base color and wouldn't have the clear coat. I guess I could buy clear coat, but how is that gonna look using a spray can for both? I know they're only little plugs, but they're on the front grill. I don't want it to look cheesy. Anyone done anything like this with paint? I looked up bumperplugs.com, but they don't have Deep Impact Blue yet.

I'm gonna put springs on in the next 2-3 weeks. I already got the spring compressor. That'll keep me busy temporarily anyway.

From reading some of the threads, I'm getting the impression the old standbys of cat-back exhaust systems and K&N filters don't work on these newer edges? So there are no worthwhile performance upgrades that can be done without spending a fortune? Obviously, there's still suspension work that can be done. Just sayin', it'd be nice to get a bit better mileage and a little boost in power like the ole days. Straighten me out here fellas. What can be done?

Seems like if it was neccessary, the suspension parts manufacturers would include the shocks with the kit. A basic kit is just springs, more expensive kits have them. so, I guess, it's just a matter of preference or whether or not you have the cash. When in doubt, ask the manufacturer. They should know. However, they might just tell you it would be a good idea just to get your money. :nonono: You could just do the springs and see how it rides. If you don't like it, get the shocks.

I'm getting ready myself to put springs on my 2013 SEL in a couple weeks or so. I'll post my results.

I just bought a new 2013 Edge SEL with the appearance pkg last Thurs. :happy feet: One of the first things I noticed when test driving it was how spongy and plastic feeling the "leather-wrapped wheel" is. Anyone know if it's real or just pleather. If it's fake (which I'm pretty sure it is), that's BS that Ford markets it as real leather.
