Thanks for all the replys. I didn't think removing the spindle nut was necessary. I'll report back when I get a moment to remove the front wheels again.

I did my rear brakes and rotors on the weekend and took a quick look at the fronts. It looks like I need to remove the spindle nut to remove the brake rotor.
Can anyone confirm this?
TIA

Nate, how close to Toronto are you located. At the right price I don't mind driving 4-6 hours. There is a retailer in Michigan that sells OEM 22" sets that I was going to travel to anyway.
I don't have enought posts to PM Jetz. Sorry about posting this sentence but Jetz, you'll have to send me a PM.

I know you say it feels more responsive but have you noticed any difference in fuel economy since you installed the larger wheels?
-
Looks great and thanks for the photos! I'm considering these or possibly OEM 22" sport wheels for my 2013 Limited.
-
I know I'll never find any hard concrete numbers for performance and fuel economy but I thought I'd look for other people's opinions.
I have a 2013 FWD Limited Ecoboost. It has the stock 20" wheels and I'm satisfied with the current performance and fuel economy. I'm sure both would improve with a smaller wheel and tire combination but what I want to know is how much I'll really suffer if I upgraded to the OEM 22" Sport wheels?
If I don't go with the 22", there seems to be people selling a Ford option 20" chromed aluminum wheel that looks nice. My plan is to use the stock 20" chrome clad wheel for a winter set.

Where are you located? I might be looking for a set of sport wheels and tires. I'm in Toronto, Canada.

Thanks for all the replies!
Like it or not, I guess this seems to be "normal". The clunk is certainly less noticeable if I lean forward and not have any weight on the seat back before I recline.
-
I have a 2013 limited. I'm the primary driver so the seat doesn't get adjusted very much. The odd time I will recline the seat and every time it will clunk like it was stuck and it just freed itself. Before I bring it to the dealer, I was wondering of anyone else has experienced this issue.

Welcome aboard from another owner in the GTA!

My edge arrived at the dealer on Wednesday evening and I just took delivery of it this morning. I guess that works out to 33 days from the time I ordered till I picked it up. I've only driven it for about 20km but so far I'm very happy with it. Too bad it was pouring rain when I picked it up....

Ok i just called the factory for an update and was told that my Edge is in transit. Does anyone know how long tranist takes I live in Chicago.
Thanks
I ordered mine the day before you on April 30. I was informed by my dealer that it is in transit as well. Not sure how long it will take to get to Chicago but the Oakville plant is about 1 hour away from my dealer. I hope to see it today or tomorrow.

I'm pretty good at spotting refinish work. Based on the pictures, I sure would like to see this in person. It looks pretty odd to me. I hope Ford helps you out on this.

Congratulations on your purchase. I've been very happy with my EcoBoost purchase but not everyone has. I think it's been too easy to focus on the top end fuel economy figure which you really won't see unless you are driving at about 100 KPH or less, steadily on the highway. Whatever your results, I still think it will be an improvement over the economy of the larger 3.5 engine that you might otherwise be driving. The real benefit is the great low end torque with excellent accelerattion which I really appreciate. Of course taking advantage of that excessive torque (because it's enjoyable) is going to lead to lower fuel economy so you need to be disciplined. Darn!
BTW, I just confirmed that I could easily carry a 15 foot canoe on top of my EcoBoost Edge. Algonquin Prov Park is in my future plans.
Great to hear you can transport your canoe. My wife and I love Algonquin Park! Here's a photo of us loaded up on our way to Algonquin, unfortunately it's not a Ford...

I love my Eco boost....... Black with 20" chrome rims and touch screen nav and love the sunroof. Great ride and a quick little fuel efficent vehicle
Great to hear! Sounds like we have exactly the same equipped vehicle. I hope the fuel economy is as good as I'm expecting.

Check with Ford, even though your father in law has passed, you might still be entitled to discounts.
I am still eligible for A/Z plan even though he has passed. When my mother in law is gone, the discounts will end. She is a great mother in law though and I'd rather have her alive, not just for the discount!

I struggled with either Black or White. I ended up ordering a black one as the door skirts and rocker panel plastic is black.

Order is placed! Now the waiting begins....

I have the opportunity to swap wheels on my 2013 Edge I'm ordering. I'm not keen on the 20" chrome clad that is available for the Edge so I was looking at either the 20" polished aluminum from the Explorer or Lincoln MKX.
Does anyone know if either of these are forged wheels? I can't seem to find any information on them. It would be nice to find out wheel weights as well but I'm not having any luck with that either.

I've finally decided to order an Edge. I haven't owned a Ford in about 26 years and I'm looking forward to it. My father in law was a factory worker in Oakville but unfortunately he's already passed away and won't see me in a vehicle his factory built. Placing my order for a Tuxedo Black Limited on Monday!

Thank you for the reply. I have been kicking myself, thinking maybe I made a mistake, especially with gas prices on the rise. I went into the dealership wanting a v6, so I did not even drive the ecoboost. Glad to hear from someone who has driven both and still decided on the v6. I am very conservative with my driving habits, so I have been averaging 23-25 mpg with the v6, with quite a bit of city driving.
I'm also debating the V6 and Ecoboost....

I know this is a very old thread but I thought I'd update with my current problem on my 2013 Limited...
The symptoms were very similar, no lighting and non responsive HVAC and radio control on the center stack below the touchscreen. Therefore no heating control at all and it somehow defaulted to heat and high fan speed. Hazard button didn't work. Coincidentally, my right front turn signal bulb blew (which is probably just a coincidence).
Disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes fixed the center stack problem. Thank goodness as the new panel at the dealer was going to be $1700cdn!
