True. I wish it did work out, but it didn't. I remember someone on here posting that the possibility exists of blowing out the SJB and how expensive it is to repair......
I hate to play devil's advocate here, but why blame the HID's and slam them if you KNEW it was possible to blow out the SJB? Sounds like the Edge is just touchy to HID kits in general.
Cigarettes have a cancer warning on the side...if you smoke and get cancer, is it the cigarette's fault? Better yet, alcohol has a drunk warning on it....if you drink and drive and kill someone because you were too impaired to drive, was it the alcohol's fault?
I hate to say it, but you were warned and knew the danger.
Not trying to flame or start a fight or whatever, just pointing out my observations. Sorry to hear about the $$$ repair bill.

I read a lot of comments regarding this clung noise during turning left at slow speed or when accelerating, but never find a concrete solution for this topic. I myself trying to figure out where it really coming from. I reported to the dealer during its maintenance check, nothing was there. They said everything okay. The noise comes from like a stone inside a milk can, when shake. That was the sound I got when turning slowly to the left on a car park
If you have the chrome-clad wheels that is most likely the issue. I just took mine in for the same issue and they replaced all four wheels free. The had already replaced two of them a few months back too. I dont know the specifics, but there is a measurement they take on the wheel cladding and if it is out of their specs....free replacement. $2600 worth.

I have the same prob and it's been bothering me..I wanted to get the chrome under the windows like on the limiteds, but on the driver's side, it's so bad that the trim is about 1/4 inch off between the front and rear door...I'll provide a photo as well
I had the same issue on mine, took it back to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty. Only took a few hours.

in both my Edge and my Mustang. Works like a champ! Spray the cloth, wipe the screen, no fingerprints!
Fits perfect in the cubby under the Nav unit too.
(Oh, and it also works great on my sunglasses)

There is a benefit to adding a less restrictive exhaust to the Edge aside from the attractive exhaust tones, you will gain HP. Also, did you seriously say you feel changing the "rugs" in your car makes you an enthusiast???? :stop:
I really dont care what other people think of the way my cars sound. As long as I am not breaking the law or db limits, forget them.

Whati s the fun in having more noise in the car, noise is a source pollution...I would gladly pay to remove the one I have stock completelly instead...
That right there would be the difference between being an "Owner" and being an "Enthusiast".

I wonder what muffler only would sound like and if it would be worth it. Also, what about the manufacturer warrant. I assume this addition completed voided it!
This is a bolt-on system. Shouldn't void the warranty. If there was any question however, it's BOLT-ON, you could just take it off, put the stocker back on.

Assuming this was a muffler only installation and not a full exhaust system overhaul, wouldn't just the muffler void the factory warranty? I actually think the Gibson sounded much better then the Flow, just my two cents.
The Gibson is not muffler-only, it is a full system. Gibson part number 319630 (aluminized) and 619630 (stainless).

Delta Flow is a trademark of Flowmaster, so as of yet, there is no Magnaflow clip...Gibson isn't too bad, however, it is a little loud. I 'spose there are fixes for that. I think the wife would complian that it's too "ricey".

WHY is this thread called "exhaust clips" when there is no clip? Opening this and seeing nothing to do with the topic, really pissed me off.
I also cannot understand how not one person has a set of mufflers with a video clip on the entire internet and this thing has been out since 2007?

Something to remember.....There is only one person who cares about your vehicle as much as you do.........its you! The best care your car will ever get is the care you give it.
Give someone $20 to clean your car and you will get a $20 wash. Make that same wash cost $500+ a month (ie., car payment), and a little more care will probably be taken.
I dont see any problem with washing the car yourself as much as you want. Just remember to use quality products and apply a surface protectant after washing to protect the finish. I use products from www.obsessivedetail.com and the results speak for themselves. The owner's name is Justin and he is a great guy. He will answer any question you may have regarding detailing and has always thrown in some "extras" with each order I have made.

From what I understand, the kit utilizes a filter to remove minerals from the water which would otherwise leave the dreaded water spots. If it can do that, the idea sounds valid. Here is some more info:

Could be a loose throttle body, a leak somewhere before the air intake sensor (the edge does have this right, kinda like a MAF??) or a loose, cracked, or disconnected vacuum hose.

I'm a little new to the aftermarket world so can someone explain to me how these tuners work? I don't understand why the auto manufacturers don't just tune them for more power and better mileage at the factory.
The tuner alters things like air/fuel ratio, transmission shift points, and can recalibrate your speedo to accommodate other-than-stock size wheels and tires amongst other things (check their website for a full list of options). By altering your a/f ratio, you can squeeze a lot more power out of your engine depending on the fuel octane level you are using. Most tuners (which are vehicle-model specific) come with 3 tunes, one for 87 octane, one for 89/91 octane and one for 93 octane. Basically the tuner allows the vehicles on-board computer to utilize the fuel in a way which provides more horsepower.
Manufacturers do not tune them like that from the factory for a couple of reasons. Most notably is environmental standards. Auto-makers must produce vehicles which meet strict emissions and environmental standards as they produce vehicles in large quantities. While tuning your car makes about .00000000000001% difference to the environment, tuning 50,000 (or however many Edge's Ford made this year) vehicles the same way can have a more dramatic effect on the environment. Also, the factory tune is one which, after much research, will fit a vast majority of driving styles and provide the best fuel efficiency, engine life, and drive-ability for the masses.
As far as engine wear goes, I would not worry too much about that after tuning unless you redline the Edge everytime you drive it just because you like the sound it makes. SCT has been in the tuning business for some time, and makes a tuner for just about every type of enthusiast vehicle. If their product caused engines to fail, they would not be in business. (If someone doubts that reasoning, please provide data to back it up, I have been known to be wrong from time to time....
While tuners, out of the box will make a noticeable difference in power and fun, the best thing to do is take your tuner to a reputable performance shop and have them dyno-tune your vehicle. This provides a tune which suits your individual vehicle the best and they can store that tune and up to 2 others (usually) on the SCT device. The generic tunes bundled with SCT devices will make a world of difference to your vehicle, however, every vehicle is different and they wont be able to reach the full potential of a tune unless dyno-tuned.
I would not get overly worked up over dyno-tuning for the average driver, however. You will most likely be more than happy with the results of any bundled tune on the SCT device.

I will send $10 to the first person who can post an actual sound/video clip of their Edge with either the Gibson or Magnaflow catback exhaust system. A before AND after is preferred, but the after, obviously, is required.
I will send it in any form you request, cash, money order, check, etc.
I really want to get a sporty tone from our new '08 Edge and would like to hear the options. I have read what folks say they sound like, but I want sounds. I know some people have done this, but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why there are NO posts made with the clips. You cant even hear them at the websites for the manufacturers.

I had the same issue, both side of my 08. Took it to the dealer, showed them and they promptly corrected it.
