  1. Just leased a 2015 Ford Edge SEL with the I4-Ecoboost engine. I was really enjoying it until I tried to pass a car on the freeway and lost all acceleration. The gas pedal went to the floor and the car never moved. The "Service Engine" light lit up and started flashing an amber warning. I decelerated and got off of the freeway and onto the service drive to stop. The car never stalled out and the light went off after a moment.

Took the car in to the dealership and they found that there was an engine misfire in the 1st cylinder. Upon further investigation, they found that the misfire happened due to engine coolant leaking into the cylinder head. Their solution is to just replace the cylinder head and send me on my merry way.

Should I let this be the end of it or should I demand either: A - a completely new engine; who knows what else is wrong with the engine after coolant has been racing through it. Or B - demand a new lease vehicle since it's only been 2,570 miles.

Anybody else hear of this happening? Has this happened to you? I'm curious to know because this is the 3rd Edge I've owned, but the 1st Ecoboost engine I've had.

  2. Hey everyone... I've been lurking around this site for a while and finally decided to take the plunge and introduce myself. I love a lot of the ideas and solutions from this forum, but I gotta ask... Where is the section for the 2013 model? I purchased my 2013 Edge SEL in June and I would think 6 months in to the model year, we would have a 2013 section. I can't be the only one wondering. Did I miss something? Lemme know!
