I have an unusual problem...I purchased my 08 Edge used in April of 2012. It has a Ford remote start system as well as the usual alarm. My issue is that the alarm goes off for no reason. Lets say I get someplace early and just want to sit in my car (I tend to be early alot). I have to leave the car running. If I turn the car off and just sit inside after a few minutes the horn will beep and about a minute later the car alarm starts going off.
Starting the car doesn't shut it off. And I've tried hitting the panic alarm on the remote start and the one on the key and they don't seem to shut it off either. it just keeps on beeping and flashing lights. eventually it will shut off, but thats usually after i've mashed the buttons on both remotes so many times I am not sure which keyfob actually managed to shut it off.
Its very embarrasing. If anyone has any ideas what this may be I would really appriciate the help!
