  1. I found my old OEM tail lights from my 2011 Edge in my attic, took them off years ago when I received the DTBL LED tail lights.  Attached is the pic, there is no damage scratches or blemishes on them.  They were on the car for 3 years and then in a box since.

I'm in Northern NJ and local pickup would be easier but if you're willing to pay shipping I wouldn't mind sending.  Looking for $50 for the set.

    Thanks,

  2. Hey Knux, i'm not sure what parts if any you'll need actually. Your car might already have the capabilities and you would just need to visit your dealer to have it activated I'd call them first just to see.

There is no range limit as long as you have 3G or 4G service in that area. But remember you will need to subscribe to the service at $49 / year in order to keep that feature going.

  3. Sorry for the delay again haha. I still get the alerts but haven't been as busy on here since I've done most of the mods I wanted to. The message that's referred to is the remote start option, which will show up in your message center once the dealer activates the feature. Apparently these cars have everything built in and just need that antenna, remote and the feature activated to work. I didn't believe it myself either but mine is sill going strong!

For the hood switch, you got the right wire. Just buy the part, like $20 online, from either ebay a dealer or any parts store and plug it into that wire. You'll see a hole right above where the current plug to no where is, slide the switch in there and plug it in.

Lmk if you need anything else. I'll receive the messages just might take me a day or so to response but I assure you I will.

    GL!

  4. Hey Jake, got your PM as well. It is really as easy as it sound my friend!

You take off the rear driver side panel, may need some panel removing tools or just a flathead and some elbow grease. You'll also need a T50 torx bit to remove the seatbelt. And then all you're basically doing is plugging the antenna into the TPMS box which you'll see once you get in there. Zip tie the antenna in place and bam you're done!

Here's a link to the exact item I purchased which came with a key:

It says for F-150 but the part number is exactly the same so don't worry. Once the installation is complete you'll need have the system initiated at the dealer or other and they can program the key for you there as well. Otherwise you can do that yourself, which I did but then the dealer also did as part of the activation process.

Hope this helps, but I'm still alive if you have other questions. It has been a while so some of the specifics in the installation are fuzzy but it's one wire / plug so you'll have no trouble.

  5. I must agree with candurin, have the 55w HID kit in my '11 and have no glare and do not blind other drivers. Even with the extra wattage I've never had anyone flash their lights at me.

They definitely don't have as sharp of a cut off as it would would have with actual HID projectors but it's more than acceptable. Some adjustment to the level of the lights may be necessary to suite your preference, but I haven't even done that and still no complaints from other drivers.

  6. Hi Brian, they will fit but you'll need at least a 3mm spacer for the front wheels to clear the caliper. Here are a few pics of them on my '11.

Also I put silver center caps on mine instead of the black they come with. Changes the look a lot.

  7. I believe part of your answer may lie in your current wheels. How dirty did the black lip look after a few weeks of brake dust buildup? I've had grey wheels in the past and must say that they don't show too much dirt / brake dust. This might also be in comparison to the machined lip which looked dirty a mere days after cleaning!

I think the finish of the wheel may make a difference too. If you were to go the plasti-dip or matte finish route then I think less dirt / dust would show as compared to a gloss finish. My current Explorer Sport wheels with the black accents show a little more dirt / dust but still not like the oem faux chrome. I think this shows more due to the gloss finish so maybe matte black or either glossy or matte grey would be better.

  8. No matter....it won't make much of a performance difference. 4000 lb vehicle with a turbo 2.0 engine.....still less than 300 ft lbs tq with 10% more boost....you'll probably just mess it up. And you will need a tune. And that's assuming injectors and fuel system are up to task.

I'm assuming you're statement about messing it up is referring to the fact that he car might run a little rich between shifts now. The ECU probably accounts for the air that's vented to the atmosphere and delivers the appropriate amount of fuel. But now that half of that air was vented instead of recirculated it could cause a brief stint of richness unless the car were tuned for such. That's what happened with my Subaru.

Not really a big deal for a car like this since we're not racing and it's not worth the cost of a custom tune on a stock motor. I agree the woosh sound is pretty awesome and addicting, I used to rev my Subaru while cruising just to make it sneeze!

  9. I actually needed to touch up a spot of the black section on the Explorer Sport wheels I have on my Edge and I was told by 3 dealers that they don't have color codes for wheels.....I searched online and couldn't find anything either.

But if you do end up finding something I'd like to know where. Maybe they'll have what I'm looking for too!
