Hey Folks,
My wife's 2013 Edge is experiencing some acceleration issues.
Sometimes when she accelerates to pass the engine begins to sputter and the CEL starts blinking.
After she lets off the gas for a few seconds it recovers.
It was also hard to start after refueling. I read up on this and people were resolving this by replacing the Canister Purge Valve.
I replaced the valve and the refueling issue went away.
The acceleration issue still exists.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My wife's 2013 has this problem. Glad I found this thread. Called the dealer for the part and it's $41.16.

What cleaner did you use? If that has not worked, consider DIY'ing the latch replacement. There are instructions on this forum on how to do so.
CRC's QD Contact Cleaner. We decided to go ahead and let the Ford dealer/service replace the latch. We negotiated the price to $325. I think the part was $125 or so of that.

My wife's Edge is at the Ford dealership now for this issue and they just told us it's going to be $420 to replace the latch. I tried spraying contact cleaner as instructed in the video but it didn't work. I'm hoping "Ford Service" might be able to chime in with a solution that will, at least, lesson the blow of this $420 price tag.
We have them on hold right now until we can decide or get some help. They need to know by 2:30 if we want to get the car back by tomorrow.

WD40 should not be used if you want a longer term fix. Electronics do not need oil lubrication, which is what WD40 provides. Use MAF sensor cleaner or electronics cleaner instead.
OK, I'll give that a try. So just follow the instructions in the video or are there other instructions I should follow?

Thanks.
I found a fix in the following thread:
Can you tell me if this is the fix that works? I ask because I've read some threads that state not to use WD-40 but he uses it in the video.

My wife has been having intermittent apparent electrical issues with her 2013 Edge. She frequently gets a door ajar warning when her door is closed. She has also noticed her dome light does not work or is dim at times.
I'm thinking it might be the switch in the door jam?
Any advice would be appreciated.
This vehicle has 70k miles so it's not under warrenty.

Thanks Fella's. Good advice.

Hi Folks,
We are looking for an extended warranty for my wife's 2013 Ford Edge. It currently has approx 70,000 miles on it.
Can you recommend any extended warranties?
The Ford ESP is not available for this vehicle because it has too many miles.
I know there are a lot of them out there but I want to narrow down my choices to the "better" ones. I recieved a quote from Atlas Car Protection and I thought it was pretty expensive.

Hey JeffRow,
I recommend bringing your Edge to your Ford Dealer. In addition, please send me a PM with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, and preferred servicing dealership; I'll look into available options on my end.
Todd
Appreciate the response Todd (and everyone else as well!).
I PM'd the info you requested. Certainly appreciate any help you can offer!

My wife's 2013 Edge has a hole in the carpet - Passenger side near sill where right heel might rest with knees bent.
It's beyong 36,000 miles so I doubt there would be any warranty on this?
Any ideas on how to patch, etc? (asside from covering with mat)
Thanks!

My wife boaught a used 2013 Edge that has the front license plate bracket installed. She wishes it wasn't there at all but since it is, she wants to put a vanity/decorative plate on the front before we consider drilling out the rivets and plugging the holes.
Can install a license plate frame onto the existing bracket?
Kind of embarrassed but how do you install just the plate onto the existing bracket?
Thanks folks!

I have a Viper system with a proximity sensor. My system works to and from the vehicle with a mile range. The proximity sensor can be adjusted and there are plenty of other additions to Viper systems. The guys who installed mine hid it behind the rear view mirror and it's maybe a 3x3 inch square at the top of my windshield, which really doesn't bother me. Its key is your typical vehicle key with an extra piece for operations of the system, but I don't have a very cluttered key chain, so that doesn't bother me either.
Can I ask what the system ran you?

Hey Folks,
I would like to have a remote starter installed on my wife's 2013 Edge SEL. I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction. I know very little about remote starters so forgive me if some if my terminology is off.
Here are the things that are important to me for considering which one:
1) Bi-Directional - (Lets you know that vehicle is started?)
2) Decent range
3) Clean install - No visible additional wires, etc
4) Prefer to have it installed but I'm open to installing it as long as it's not too complicated and voids warranty - So you know, were beyond 36,000.
Would be nice bonus features but not absolutely mandatory:
1) Would replace existing key with new key that has starter features on it.
2) Any additional theft deterrent/kill switch features is a bonus.
I'm open to all suggestions.
I live in SE Michigan, if that helps.
Thanks folks!

Seems like it would be a safety issue since that could cause the seat to fail in a crash.
-
Just picked up a used 2013 Edge SEL with 10 way power driver seat. I notice a slight slop in the seat when taking off and stopping. Feels like maybe .25 - .5 an inch of movement in the track.
Anybody have this issue?
Aware of any service bullitins, recalls, etc?
Thanks

You will never get all the smoke smell out. It gets behind the panels, in the carpet padding, etc. where you can never clean it or Febreze it. You may think you have it smelling good, then a damp, rainy day comes along and the smell will surface again. I, too, am sensitive to smoke smells (actually allergic) and have had cars before with this problem. I'd advise you to keep looking for one that was non-smoker owned. When you are looking at used cars, always check the ashtray (if there is one)... if they have pretty smelling air freshener beads in it, keep moving.
Good advice.

Just the remaining drive train warranty.

The wife drove this one hkme for the night. Might be picking it up for $23k. It was a rental. Very nice Edge though.
-
Test drove this one today. Price seems right and nothing notably wrong with it. It was a smokers vehicle and I'm still not 100% convinced you can completly eliminate smoke.
-
The wife is going to look at this one today. I can't get there to look at it this evening.

With FWD I don't think there is any big difference between the 08, 09 and 10.
That's good news. Thanks.
-
Most likely FWD for better mileage and less potential problems. However, if we come across the right vehicle at the right price and it's AWD we would probabky get it.
I know it would be great for winter.
We are trying to get in undet $20k because we'll be rolling a little over from the loss of our trade in.

I guess I could stop at Autozone and have them scan it, correct?
