  1. I have the year of the vehicle in the post, 2013. Is there a reason why you dont agree with installing them in halogen projectors or just personal preference? Ive never ordered before from ddm, I just continue to see them thrown out there, something always seemed off and I never brought myself to order anything. I know on drivebright.com they have their hid setup for $100 right now minus shipping and all that, I just cant justify spending that much on silverstars when I know the performance is significantly better from HID but I didnt have the concern of being in a projector housing before.

  2. I've had the itch for a while now to install HIDs in my 2013 and since I noticed my drivers side was out this morning on my way home from work, I figure now is the time to do so. Been searching around trying to see pros and cons about doing so in the factory housing since I purchased an SE and dont have factory HIDs. But after digging around on here and seeing some sites, I went and checked out ddmtuning and saw that now they have LED as well. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions about installing these in the factory setup over HID and any suggestions on the good, bad and all that fun stuff. I had installed an HID setup in my last vehicle and had no issues with them after install. Hoping I can repeat that and upgrade without any issues again. Thanks in advance.

  3. I'm against using foil for electrical conductivity. I know this is a low power LED, but I've seen somebody try to use it elsewhere before and basically the microwave blew up like a bomb. He was an idiot and trying to bypass a fuse to see what was wrong.

Like I said I'm sure it's a bit different for an LED but bending the post a tiny bit seems like a better idea than wrapping a connection with a loose thin sheet of aluminum.

I agree with you totally on this. If its as simple as bending a clip back in place than that's what ill try when I have a chance to do so. Just the idea of adding something that's not supposed to go there and adding to it that it deals with electrical just scares me.
  4. I purchased some led festoon type bulb to replace mine in the rear but cant seem to get them to stay on. I never had any issues with the stock bulbs but since I made the swap when I hit a bump or anything they stop working. I checked it out the other night and when I shut the either back door they flicker almost as if it losing its connection. When I got in this morning to come home from work they were on, after driving home and having to go over a few speed bumps before parking and opening my door again, they weren't on. I leaned back and tapped on the roof a few inches in front and they came on.

Im not sure if when I took the old ones out I loosened the metal clips or what but do either of you have any suggestions so they can stay on everytime i open the door? I had someone suggest using electrical tape to hold em in as well as wrapping the ends with a little bit of aluminum foil. Im against that for obvious reasons and don't want electrical tape to melt and get nasty when I replace them again later on.

  5. Im planning on plasti-dipping my grill on my 2013 and had a few questions for those of you that have already done it. First off, how difficult is it to take off the license plate bracket so I can just do all the grill instead of around that? and secondly how many coats did you apply when you did it? I did the edge logo on the back hatch so I'm familiar with the process and how to apply it, just don't wanna screw up on the grill since its such a large part of the vehicle....any feedback or other tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks

  6. Got a 2013 and I'm planning on doing my grill this week, as long as the weather cooperates. Any tips on best ways to clean before I start spraying? Did my edge logo on back hatch when it was pretty new with very little weathering to it, so went pretty smoothly. Liking what you did with yours, looks good keep it up

  7. Mine has been fixed, apparently I had a module that went bad somewhere in the wheel wells....or at least thats what I was told. Same thing with a module on my steering column for my blinkers, and now it has to go back because only the directional pads on the steering wheel work, no cruise control, sync voice controls or phone controls. Been a clusterf**k of a situation considering I had to argue to get a rental car since they don't give you one unless you purchased the extended service plan. Im trying to stay positive over it all since I know it will be repaired under mfg warranty and I got a rental I'm not paying for but frustration is setting in....I purchased an Edge and have been stuck driving a Fiesta for the last two weeks.

  8. If I remember correctly, the ABS system/wheel speed sensors have been the culprits in the past. Another thing to check would be the OSS/TSS sensors.

Put it back to stock if you are concerned, but seems like the dealership already knows about your CAI?

Im having this same issue and they told me its a wheel sensor, Im also having my blinker not click off after I make a full turn, it just stays on, seems like something I shouldn't be having on a '13 edge with 3200 miles. Whats frustrating to me more than anything is that they want it for a few days but they won't give me a loaner vehicle.

  9. I have a 13 Edge and was getting the service advancetrac warning yesterday when I started the car up, the only other issue I have noticed is that when I use turn signals they won't automatically stop when I finish the turn and just keep blinking, the earliest I can make it into the dealer is tomorrow but with what Im reading on here I'm getting concerned that they will want to keep it for a while which leaves me with no vehicle.

  10. Just in case anyone was wondering, I tried to coat the back lip on the bumper in pd in hopes it would come out ok, and with no luck it didnt. I peeled back the tape after spraying 7 coats on and it looked bad, and in a few spots the line didnt come out good at all, tape didnt peel off cleanly at all, so I tore it all off and its back to silver. I taped off just at the break when the bumper starts to drop off and follow that line across the whole back, all the way up to the tail lights on the side. it just looked bad in my opinion. Just thought i'd update this in case anyone was interested.

  11. So im about to order my kit from ddm, 55W 5000k, so ive got a few questions like you Msl558. It asks for the mounting brackets, hid harness, error eliminator and adapter cables. Ive read the brackets are no need to buy, but im wondering about the harness and error eliminator? Ive read some people say yes and some say no so im confused. I just wanna make sure I get what I need the first time and dont have to order more and wait longer than necessary, thanks.

  12. This is awesome to read!!! I kept up with the story about Riley, which Im sorry you had to go through something like that. I never really knew how attached we can become to animals since I never had any growing up until recently when my brother moved into my apt with me. He has a 4 year old rat terrier and I love that lil guy so much. No matter what has happened throughout the day and how bad it may have been, to have someone when you come home and be so ecstatic to see you and wanna play and just be around you is a great feeling. What makes this even better is that you rescued him from a shelter and he was given another chance. Congrats again.

  13. Im not wanting something too thick, just to protect from minor scratches, since I play softball and golf, Im thinking to spray some down so if I do happen to hit it than I dont scratch paint, Im pretty good about lifting up and than out since I used to have a truck and had to lift over the tailgate. Im definitely getting the edge badging blacked out thursday and if i decide to do the bumper ill post pics. I was kinda thinking the same thing you said cellbine, since its only $6 it cant hurt to try.

  14. So I just bought my first can of plasti dip to black out the edge emblem on the back and also some other things. What i'm trying to figure out is if I can use it in place of a rear bumper protector? I've looked on here quite a bit and found out people were using the one for the scion and theres also the actual edge badged one from ford, Im finding these for around $50. Im just wondering if anyone has tried to do this and if so, was it worth it? Im thinking it could be used instead and it may look better and sleeker but have never done anything with plasti dip so not too sure. Any advice?

  15. Ya it did include sales tax, not sure exactly what the percent was. I got them down to $24,300 and was given $4500 for trade in so taxes, title and everything came out to $1,549. Handed them the keys and title to my old truck, as well as a check for $21,349 and was given the keys and title for my new edge and I couldn't be happier considering that sticker was $29,985 like I said earlier.
