I wanted to first thank everyone here for all the information that I have gleamed from the site over the last while - There are many questions about this topic, and I have been reading them.
This involves changing the Sport 22"s to something for the winter.
Here is what I have gathered so far:
Should be able to go down to a 17" rim as the smallest that will still fit around the calipers.
245/70/17 seems to match the sizing of the stock 22"s so I don't have to worry about speed changes.
I have found someone with a set of these Sacchi S62 262 rims for sale that he said were on his 2007 Ford Explorer.
Now I am trying to determine if everything else will work.
First I tried looking up the tire sizes online and thought I found that both were 5x114.3
The only problem was I couldn't find anything on 2013 Edge Sport, only a few years older - but I thought it might be the same.
I just did the Canadian Tire fitment wizard online - it did say that can use 22, 20, 18 or 17 rims.
When it gave me back the choices, the above rim was included - but they gave 17x7 5x100 bolt pattern.
Either that's the same OR something is wrong - is the 2013 edge sport 5x100 or 5x114.3?
It says Bolt Pattern 1 5x100 bolt pattern 2 5x114.3 - do they have spacing on the same rim to make both of those work, or 2 different rims?
I also did an online offset calculator to see what difference that would make on the rim.
Form what I gather the 22"s are 9.5" deep and have a 35mm offset while the new ones are 7" deep and have a 40mm offset.
If I understand correct, the rim moves 31mm away from the inside of the vehicle - giving more clearance - and 33mm away from the outside of the vehicle.
Does this difference cause any problems? - it looks to me like it should be ok.
Thanks for the support everyone!
