I was just wondering at what mileage did you do your first oil change? It used to be on a new vehicle, manufactures would want you to change oil after the first 500 - 1000 miles. The belief was that's where the initial wear, metal shavings, etc. would occur during a break-in period of a new vehicle. My wife has about 700 miles on her new Edge. I'm going to change the oil & filter at 1000 miles. I will be switching to a full synthetic oil such as Mobil 1 , then just do my regular changes at 7,500 and so on. I used to change my conventional oil every 3,000 miles but with the price of oil/gas I changed to 5000 miles. Now I believe switching to a full synthetic and going with the recommended 7,500 mile change I will save money and be giving my vehicle the best protection. Any thoughts? Saff

Hi everyone. Just bought a new Edge Limited last Saturday. This was the first vehicle my wife has ever picked out on her own- she loves it! White Sand / Black Leather. She has wanted one of these since they hit the market but I just couldn't get her to spend the money. We replaced her 2001 Honda CR-V which had a 110,000 miles on it We NEVER had any problems with the vehicle so the Edge is really going to get tested on quality and reliability for us. Looking forward to learning all about the Edge on here - good & bad. The more informed we all are, the more the dealers will have to listen to us. Saff
