  1. Looks Great Traxiii.

I like those rims allot. I ended up not spending the coin for the TSW's and landed some Advanti Bellos for under $200 a piece and I wrapped them with a set of Yokos. I decided on 20's instead of 22's and compensated in tire height. Here are some photos. I plan on lowering it this spring to complete the look. It's the wife's ride and she loves the way it drives and handles now. She immediately remarked on handling and driving improvements.

  2. I bought the Powerstop drilled and slotted rotors after warpong my autozone rotors in short order. The entire kit was $350-$400 for front and rear with pads. After the correct break-in process rhese rotors are shot after maybe 5 months being generous. Ive come to the co clusion that any rotor not over $100a pc ( over $200 for both sides) is made of cheap steel/iron and to buy cheap rotors is a waste of money. I say this because everytime I have over 50-60% pad left but the rotors are shot, even a namebrand but cheap drilled rotor like Powerstop. Im going to spend my money right and buy the Ultimax Rotors from EBC with either EBC Redstuff pads or Hawk HPS pads. Theyre much more expensive than even the Ford Motorcraft rotors and OEM pads but I drive pretty hard/sporty so.

The OEM brake set-up seemed to last for a good while from the factory when I bought the vehicle but since first replacements without ford parts has been downhill. So I plan to install the new EBC set-up this coming week and will post wear results in a few months. So note to everyone, dont buy cheap rotors, drilled and slotted or not. Best bet is to buy Ford Motorcraft OEM rotors and pads or Drilled/ slotted rotors from a reputable company like EBC or Brembo with the rotors costing over 100$ a piece, unfortunately. Hope this helps cause the money I dumped on powerstop rotors a few months ago was a waste of $400 all the way around. And BTw, 2011 Ford Edge Limited eith 20" wheels iss my vehicle.

I would love to see some photos of the finished assembly once you have the EBC products installed. I wanted that EBC Redstuff combo. I am hoping to not run into the warping issues you have had with PowerStop, but I am being the guinea pig for the R1 Concepts setup. Like I said before I will post updates of the wear progress. This didn't look too bad cost wise. http://thmotorsports.com/i-442211.aspx?itemid=442211&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=4422112011FORDEDGE&utm_campaign=GoogleShoppingSeanVehSpec&adtype=pla&kw=&gclid=CMODl7SJ_cACFehDMgod3WQA8A , but only see to have them for the rear.

  3. TSW Nurburgring 20"x 8.5" = 23 lbs. pretty much the lightest 20" wheel you'll find, but they aren't cheap, and I have no idea if you'll get your 2 mpg out of them. I love mine, but haven't driven much other than around town to see mileage gains.

Yeah those had my eye for sure. Nice looking rims. Just didn;t want to spend the coin when I know she will curb them. :)

  4. 22 mpg ... either all/mostly highway, or FWD, right? Would be quite the feat with AWD in mixed or city driving. Can't wait to see pics of your new wheels/tires mounted on the Sport!

Yeah it is FWD. On highway I have seen 24, but overall average still hits 22 with using AC. As soon as these rims and tores are in, I will post the pics.

Just so I understand, you want to go down to 20" rims so as to gain 2 MPG? In an SUV/CUV? If MPG is that important, why not get a hybrid (gas-electric or plug-in) that will get you 40+MPG? Methinks MPG and CUVs don't quite co-exist. Even with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine on the Edge, the MPG gain is miniscule compared to say an SEL with the 18" rims... Maybe 2-4 MPG difference, if that... BTW, I get lots of compliments on the 22's everywhere.... It is unique on a Ford and do turn heads, especially if tricked out with the red caliper covers... As for MPG, I am doing 19.7 MPG routinely (mix of city & freeways), and no complaints... Knew going in I was buying a big 4400 Ib beast...

    jus' sayn'....

Knew what she was buying, No complaints, just aiming to gain as much mpg as possible. My goal in all my vehicles and bikes, is to compliment the looks and asthetics as well as gain performance and fuel mileage. Yeah we also get allot of compliments on the 22's, personally I think they would looks better all gloss Black which is what I still may do and make them her summer set. Hybrids not for me, but thanks for your input.

  6. Newb here. I have been searching for 20" rim replacements for my wife's 2011 Edge Sport for the past 2 months. She travels the state day to day and gets 22mpg on average. I wanted to get her average mileage up to at least 24. Green filter was the first add on. While I was replacing her rotors this past weekend, I decided to weight one of these 22" monsters with lugs since I keep seeing 85lbs out here. I saw 74lbs without lugs and 75 with lugs. I have settled on a set of Advanti Bello 20" with a set of Yokohama YK580 265/50r20". New YokoTires weigh in at 37lbs and Bello rims are at 29.35 lbs. total 66.35lbs then add TPS sensors and balancing weight, should still be around a 6 to 8lb savings per wheel. The price of these rims are very reasonable right now. For those who have swapped from 22" to 20" on the Sport with Yokohama tires, what changes were notcieable? Photos soon once they arrive.

  7. Wife purchased a used 2011 Sport In April. 34k when we purchased to. at 39K is when I could feel a slight vibration under breaking. Still had about 1/2 pad life left. Rear pads were more worn than front but still not down to indicators. These softer metals wear allot faster. I would say stopping 75lb wheels to boot adds some heat. Replaced front and rear rotors and pads this past Sunday with a set of R1 Concepts Premier Series Cross Drilled Rotors and pads. These also are E coated since we are in Ohio and they pound the roads with salt in the winter months. Thought I would share some photos as well. Whole kit was $500.
