  1. As the title says I am wondering what milage should I replace my water pump on my 3.5L Edge. Currently my 2013 has 94K on it, and I knew it has the terrible design of the water pump withing the timing chain. I want to be over cautious since I keep my vehicles till they die. Whenever I do this I plan on having the timing chain and guides replaced. What brand of pump and timing components do you suggested. I'm fine with OEM but I am sure there is a company who makes them for Ford that I can get cheaper while being the same part.  Any info will be nice to hear.

    Thanks.

  2. You have a TPMS sensor that needs to be calibrated or you have some interference some where. There are some good videos on youtube that explain this better than I could ever do. But it seems like you need to go to the dealer regardless.

  3. Rusty Edge, I did find something. I am not sure they will have the sport black color but they do have color codes for oem wheels. You just do a search under your vehicle. Since the wheels I am getting are Explorer wheels I just searched under the year and model of the vehicle and it list options of colors for that vehicle. The website is www.paintscratch.com

  4. Im purchasing a used set of explorer wheels which the owner said the TPMS sensors are inside the wheels. I am not sure if they are or not unless I break down the wheels unless someone else can fill me in. But my question is if I change these set to my 13 edge and have Ford dealer change the signal where my vehicle can read the sensors will I have to do it again when I put my OEM set back on during the winter? I want to have a winter set and a summer set of wheels and tires. So my plan is to have TPMS in both set of wheels. If I have to go back to ford to change the signal every time I change the wheels over then would it be better to but a tool?

I found this tool which is a Motorcraft TPMS training tool part number 8c2z-1a203-a. Would this tool work for me? If so has anyone done it them selves. I figure it would be a good tool to have since we have a 2010 Ford Fusion as wheel and could use it on that vehicle also if the same occurrence happens again with that vehicle.

    Thanks

  5. I purchased a used set of wheels and tires off of ebay for my 13 Edge. They are explorer wheels and they have a silver finish which is the same color of my original Edge wheels. They new explorer wheels needs a few places to be touched up. I was wondering if anyone knows where to purchase some touch up paint for these wheels. Or does anyone know a similar color?

    Thanks

  6. I bought a couple cans of the Colorbond 324 before you guys mentioned it. I have not tried it yet. But while waiting in the mail for them I tried turtle wax trim restorer used to restore trim on the outside of your car. Well it made the plastic black again but I still have a few scratches. So I am going to use the color bond to fix those issues. Thanks for your help. Do you guys have any tips on prepping the plastic for paint?

  7. Was doing some home improvements and was hauling some items in our 2013 Edge. Well the cargo quarter panels got some damage to them while hauling our items. The wife cleaned the panels with a non harsh cleaner. Well that was a bad thing, the panels were charcoal black now they are a white color. I looked at buying new panels but they are going to cost us around $1k without labor. So I was wondering if there was a interior spray that is close to matching.

    Thanks

  8. Its funny that you mentioned this, I had the same rattle ticking sound and I also pinpointed it at this same location. Mine is coming from the passenger back seat, when I bang the bottom of the seat I can replicate the noise. I just folded and slammed shut the seat in place and noise went away. Looks like I need to invest in some silicone spray with this vehicle. This is an extremely noisy vehicle when it comes to the interior, I am constantly battling with interior noise and my vehicle only has 17k on it

  9.

    Good morning, Lunareclipse02,

I encourage you to make an appointment with your local Ford Dealer here. In addition, please send me a PM with your full name, phone number, VIN, mileage, and dealer name/appointment time. I'll get this escalated.

Are you still experiencing this concern, MurphieNB?

    Todd

I plan on taking it when I need an oil change which is soon. Since the dealer is an hour away I want to make less trips as possible. But looking more into it this does seem to be my issue also.

    Thanks

  10. Kinda wondering if I made a mistake on getting the SE package over the SEL. While we were shopping there was no SEL that was affordable and the price difference was not worth for what we would of gotten. But now with all these rebates seems to me we should of waited a few months. Little too late, I should just enjoy the vehicle and never look back.

  11. I checked both wheel liners and they are both tight. I believe I found a post a while back about the fiberglass panel underneath the vehicle on the passenger and driver side which tends to rattle. I cannot find that post anywhere. I believe that might be my issue, I tap on it and I can somewhat replicate the noise. This panel in question does have all of its fasteners and is tight so I am not sure how to fix this. Also there is not much the dealer can do to help me. This is frustrating, does anyone else have a lot of interior noises like me? It seems I have a new rattle just about every day and the vehicle only has 14k on the odometer

  12. We went with the SE with the convenience package. We figured out with the bigger packages that you dont get an upgrade of engine or any certain look besides the Sport so we stuck with the SE considering it had everything that we needed. Yes I would like to have the bigger wheels and all the bells and whistles but to us it was not worth the price difference.

  13. I have a 2013 Edge and I am having a issue with a constant rattle sound coming from the passenger side floorboard next to the passenger door. This constant rattle only occurs if I am driving over 45 mph. It is very annoying, so I concluded that it has to be wind that is causing this noise. So I crawled under car and try to find what is loose. Everything seems to be tight and having all of its fasteners. Not sure exactly what to do next. I can try to take it to my local dealer and tell them but I am sure I will get the usual and they would say that they heard nothing. They must be deaf, since this vehicle has very noisy interior.

  14. There is always good ones and bad ones. Yes I also have minor issues like a rattle here and there but it will be hard to find a vehicle which does not ever rattle at some point. I have not heard many great things upon MFT so I opted for the base SYNC radio and could not be happier. I love my edge
