  1. I'm experiencing the same issues. I recently went on travel and had the pleasure of driving two to three hours in rainy weather. Anywho, when I selected the second or third notch on the lever, the wipers worked as advertised for about a minute and then the wipers would speed up extremely fast. I rotated the switch lever on the steering column back to the first notch for the wipers to work as normal. I'm suspecting the wiper switch is fault/intermitting. Any suggestions and or recommendations would be greatly appreciate. Thanks.

  2. The insurance company had it towed to the body shop. I gave a scenario of what happened to one of mechanics and he said I was lucky that the right front quarter panel absorbed most of the impact. He also said, had the impact occurred in the center, the airbags would have definitely deployed. I'm not sure of what damage may have occurred behind the bumper but I do know the front bumper assembly, right headlight, front grille, and right quarter panel will need to be replace. I'm still wondering why the seat belt motor shorted out.

  3. On Friday morning, a deer took her chances on crossing the highway and the end results are below. I blinked and "BAM", my dashboard lights went crazy. The deer got up and looked at the car for a moment and then turned and continued on her path. The driver seat belt motor started smoking, airbag light bright but the airbags did not deploy. As you see, the damage is not major....and I just had the black grill inserts installed.

  4. It looks like the hinges need to be adjusted. Is the hinge side of the door pulled in more on the bottom than the top? If it isn't than the door may be warped. I'm not suggesting this but my buddies body shop used to fix stuff like this by blocking the door on the bottom with a wood block and pushing the top section of the door to twist it into the correct position. If your under warrantee bring it in and let Ford figure it out.

I will definitely inspect the hinges this weekend if the weather permits. As for the warranty, my 36 months are up, however I did get an extended warranty at the time of purchase. Hopefully, this door issue is included if not, it's all good. Roll Tide!!

    Hey guys,

I recommend setting an appointment with your local Ford Dealer. Locate a dealer near you, and set up an appointment here.

What’s the current mileage on your vehicles?

Once this info is received, I’ll look into available options to assist. :)

My 2011 Edge Limited has 29,850 and counting

  6. Yes, it is aligned on the fender side and the door closes without any problems. I had a body shop to validate what I was looking at and he noticed it also and said, "ajusting the tang/latch would pull the door in. I tried that and nothing changed. I will take pics tomorrow and post. It's not noticable to the average person, I noticed it when I was polishing/waxing it a couple of weeks ago.

  7. I have the 2011 Ford Edge LImited FWD only. So, with the comments stated, the tow package isn't necessary required as long as the towing capacity stays under 2000 lbs? I sold my tacoma truck for the Edge and now I am researching my options for a hitch and harness assembly to tow my Sea Doo Ski (1000 +/- 200 lbs). I am assuming that cutting the rear lower panel for proper hitch installation depends on the brand/type of hitch. I would definitely prefer not to modify the rear panel for installation purposes. Suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

  8. I noticed the other day that the driver side door on my 2011 Ford Edge Limited isn't flush with the frame/rear door. I adjusted the tang/latch to pull the door closer to the frame but that didn't work. I'm wondering if this is a manufacture defect/aligment over-site. Also, if I put my face to the door window, I can feel cool air coming in. Just wondering if anybody have noticed whether or not this door alignment issue exist on their vehicle.

Definitely looking forward to changing out the chrome grill assembly. I asked a body shop what would they charge to change out front grill assembly and they (he) said $625.00. I guess I had dollar signs written across my forehead or they did not want to tackle such a hard job. I decided to check one location and the guy told me it would be less then $100 dollars and they would paint it if necessary.

  10. I recently (about two weeks) purchased a 2011 Ford Edge Limited (Black) and I must admit, I am very please with it so far. I plan to change out the crown grill and replace with a black one. I look forward to interacting with other members on this forum for suggestions and recommendations. Thanks!
