  1. ...My new one should be ready to go on Monday. In spite of the lack of action for so long on Ford's part, we like the vehicle so much that we are willing to try another one that was built after the magic April 28th date.

I'm so happy for you, Edgy43. Kudos on your new Edge, and thank you for the love; we love you back. :love_shower: Be sure to let me know if you have any questions in the future.

  2. My advice to anyone considering a new Ford Edge is to take your time and check everything out regarding your prospective vehicle. I got mine on May 25th, discovered the A pillar water leak , took the car to the dealer on June 22nd. It is still there.. My last contact with the dealer was when I saw it sitting outside, a few weeks ago, and thought it was ready to go. My mistake. Interior is out of it. They told me they are waiting for info from Ford. No contact since then. I never did have any contact from Ford. As it stands now, I had my car 25 days and as of today the dealer has had it 33 days. I think Ford should just replace these problem vehicles and stop fooling around.

    Hey Edgy43,

I've added this info to your case notes, and requested that your CSM contact you as soon as possible. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything.

  3. Thanks Kwasi. Could you provide me with a means of providing you with the info you asked for that is a little more secure than an open post? Perhaps an e-mail address? Dealer has been helpful but things have been and are currently at a standstill since the fix and carpet/insulation removal.

    Hey Edgy43,

Feel free to send over your information via private message. To do so, all you'll need to do is click 'Send me a message' here: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/user/32485-fordserviceca/

    Talk to you soon! :)

  4. ...But I haven't seen too many on the road yet

Kudos on your new Edge, cv27 & chanceone. Be sure to let me know if you have any questions about your vehicle. Have a great week.

...make sure you get the leak recall done!

Recalls are VIN-specific, Greener. Please PM yours, I'll check the status.

Ottawa / June 12th / black on black / 2015 SEL / front wheel drive / pano roof / voice active / leather / auto start. Nicest vehicle I've ever owned as far as I'm concerned...

I got my new 2015 Edge Titanium, loaded, May 25th. Really was enjoying it when I discovered my driver side floor carpet and insulation was soaked. Did my best to dry it out but as soon as it rained again it was soaked. Checked the internet and found the leaky Edge web site. Went to my dealer and had a discussion about the problem. Car was dropped off at the dealership on June 22nd, with 1,400 kms on it, and as of today, July 12th it is still there. They have provided me with another 2015 Edge Titanium to drive and mine is sitting at their shop with the interior removed awaiting further instructions from Ford...

Allow me congratulate you on your new vehicle, Edgy43. I'll loop in your regional customer service manager to help reunite you with your beautiful Edge. Please PM your VIN, full name, phone number, and servicing dealer info.

  5. I can hear you knocking, but you can't come in.

OK, so I've an appointment with the dealership next Tuesday for AGAIN the driver door ajar warning sensor/switch. They fixed it once and it's back again. Drives me nuts... it can't be ignored! It'll ding-ding with every slow/stop that I come to.

With the factory 60 k almost up in 10 days I'm having this done AND I'm going to have them look over the filler breather/vent tube for the petrol fill. Thunk-thunk after a fill up.

I tried last fill up and notice I could fill a heck of a lot additional fuel and it never over flowed. I also notice that the fuel gauge registered higher on the console display. Usually I've been not pushing the "extra" petrol into the tank after the first click stop of the pump at the station.

So, I'm wondering is there anyone out there that has had their Edge looked at for this issue?

What exactly was found and the resolve that was implemented?

    Or

    Is this even an issue?

Vehicle runs fine and fuel consumption inline with others at about ~9.5L per 100km's or 29~30 mpg highway and 12~13L or ~22 mpg in town.

Is this something that I could look at for the vent /breather tube? I'm handy and not scared to take things on myself. I simply need to know where I might start looking for "this potential" problem with EVAP?

I recall years ago being told by my mechanic buddy that when filling fuel, "Don't pump and pump to round up the cash value to even it as you risk overflow of raw fuel back to the EVAP canister with the charcoal and that can damage it and it is a costly part to replace."

    Any thoughts anyone?

    Thanks

    Hey Liptoss,

I'm glad to see that you've scheduled an appointment with your dealer, as they're in the best position to assist with a diagnosis and next steps for both concerns. What's the current odometer reading on your Edge? Please let me know and I'll see how to help on my end.

  6. Hey everyone! Been viewing this thread ever since I was interested in getting an Edge. Finally bit the bullet and ordered a Titanium AWD with Ecoboost!! Super stoked! Just waiting to get my VIN from my dealer :love_shower:

Congrats, Louis Ve! I'm happy to track the status of your order. Just send over a PM with the order number and dealer code. I'll check it out and let you know the latest.

  7. I have a 2013 edge limited with 40k km and recently its been struggling to start when the engine sits over night. The dealership saw nothing wrong and wants me to leave it over night again. Has anybody else come across this scenario?

I'll get a case into the hands of your regional customer service manager, Nobby_74. All I'll need to get started is a private message with your full name, VIN, servicing dealership, and best daytime contact number. I'll get the ball rolling!

  8. With all the write ups on thunk thump, I will be listening more intensely now to my 2013 SEL that I recently bought with 47,000 km's on it. Heard something, but check myself all the time for being "crazy" (Don't we all?)

I do hear a low thunk thunk on occasion when braking slow or fast. I have attributed it to the gasoline in the tank, since I usually can hear it more pronounced after a fill up. Must be the fuel sloshing back and forth in the tank because it dissipates after about 10 seconds with the vehicle finally stopped.

I'm here to help, Liptoss; have you had your dealer take a look at your Edge? They'll be able to diagnose this and suggest the best next steps. Feel free to use this to get started, and keep me posted as things progress!

  9. I have a 2013 SEL. For the first time since I bought it, I hit got over 400 km city driving on a tank. 413 to be exact. I have averaged between 340 and 390 depending on season, idle time, remote start etc.

Just wondering what other 3.5's are getting?

Anyone else ever show over 600 DTE on their edge? I've never seen over 500 so what the heck is going on? Anyone from Ford care to chime in?

I suggest having your local dealership take a look if you're at all concerned about the DTE display, normcloutier. They're best able to diagnose this, if necessary.
If any of you are thinking there's something up with the readings you're getting, your local dealership is your first and best resource! I encourage you all to keep me in the loop, and don't hesitate to reach out to me privately with some more information moving forward. :)
    Have a great day!
