Installed LED's in the SS(not an Edge.. Sorry), And live them, every light buld is now HID or LED, its great... Very much worth it!! :yup:
-
I looked at the wiring diagram for the fog lights and don't see any other modules needed, just a relay in the smart junction box(assuming all the other wiring is in the box for the fog lamps already, otherwise you'll need a new smart junction box).
When you replace the non fog light switch, with the new headlight/fog light switch, you can hear the relay clicking to turn on the fog lights. I could not however find the wires leading out of the Smart Junction Box to run to the fog lights. There is a Tan wire with a yellow stripe on the plug for the head lights switch, that same wire is also going into the SJB, I tapped into that wire, to use as the latching 12 Volt signal wire for the AEM relay harness I installed to use with the new OEM fog lights... I spent a lot of time in the foot well of the Edge attempting to locate the fog light wires and was unsuccessful...... Otherwise, it’s a pain in the ass!! But worth it, next I will probably be adding HID to the fog lights…

The dealer is researching this for me. According to another person who works there, I would not only have to require the harness but also an electrical module. If I have to do all of that, I am going to have to go aftermarket since it would be highly expensive to add them with the proper modules.
However, the wierd thing is that when I researched the parts list at Team Ford, there is nothing about modules listed.
True that! Its probally a relay, or something else along the lines of that...
Also, HID install came out GREAT!!! 6,000 K low beams, looks good, easy install!!

Just curious what will you do now?? Are we able to get that harness separate and run it with a new switch?? Interested in doing it myself, let me know what you discover.
No prewire.....
I have a fog light wiring harness, bought it form local store, its a AEM, comes with a relay and all equipment needed to install lights. Tonight i am going to take the dash apart, and attempt to find the wire that comes outta the stock switch to work the fog lights. I bought a new headlight switch from ford with the fog light option. installing the lights was easy! Crawl up under car, i took the bottom plastic piece off, reach up, and the stock black grilles come out,(where the new lights will be going), and the fog lights and new grills just clip in. Tonight i am going to wire, ill get back to you guys tonight or tomorrow....

I would like to upgrade the fog lamps on my 07 Edge SEL. Any suggestions for a brighter lamp. Thanks
Depends on what kinda upgrade...
Different color? Brighter? Re-aim them?
What are looking to do?
You might wnat to think about different color bulbs, or even HID's.
But, this, like most other forums, if you look around, i am sure you will find the answers your looking for!

I have rotational tires on my other truck, and i know that their mounting is very important to their performance(hence the "directional" markings on the tires). Therefor i cannot do a conventional tire rotation,(left front goes to right rear) without having them unmounted, turned around, remounted on the rim in the opposite direction. In my knowledge, they would not put a "inside" and "outside" marking on the tires if they didn't mean something... just my 2 cent!!

Took SS to back to dealer today(warranty work), so the edge is the next project, whenever i get up under it and start lookin around ill keep you guys posted on the fogs/HID Install, pictures will be included!

SLP Headers, MAC CAI, Ported & Polished Throttle Body, E-Fans, HSRK, Hotchkins rear sway bar and front bushings are this month. SLP top end(rockers arm and push rods), Corsa Touring Exhaust, and MSD ignition will be on the way. I already have the engine covers painted, HID installed, and working on a fiberglass custom enclosure.

Hey Guys,
I'm new here, just bought an se edge.................... did a search on foglamps and was wondering if anyone has installed oem foglights on an se model?? I know that I have to change my switch inside but will the wire harness have plugs already on it for the foglamps to plug into??
I just ordered the parts to do mine, ill let you know how the install goes whenever the parts come in..
-
I don't know, i have not had a chance to crawl up under it yet...(headers came in for Trailblazer :happy feet: ) when ever i get the chance ill look... If not, wiring is not that difficult...
And...just ordered HID kit for Edge!
Edge might look good, but not as fast as Trailblazer SS!!
It does get much better gas mileage however.....

Welcome to the fold. I hope to have a TBSS in addition to the Edge shortly. :D
Really??
The Trailblazer SS is my playtoy..
The edge is more the wife's truck then anything else, but, ill still play around with it! I gotta hook it up!!

Bigger question is whether or not you want to pony up the dough. I have already checked on them and they wanted more than $200 for the set. For me, I would have to shell out extra dough for the switch and maybe the wiring.
True that, but i liked the look of the OEM lights, they just didn't have any at the dealer! And as close to the ground as the fog lights are, i think the projectors are the only way to go. Had regular lights on a Cavi, and replaced them every 6 months.. But i have not had any problems outta my Trailblazer Projector fog lights, and its lowered, on the beltway, high speeds!!

2007 Trailblazer, with 10000K head lights and 3000K fog lights, LOVE THEM! No modifications at all, using the stock housings, no projectors. The beam is flawless! The lines jump out at you, during all weather!
I plan on doing the same thing to the edge here shortly.

Welcome aboard!! What year, color, and options do you have?
