  1.

In a similar situation as well ordered March 8th and built on April 22nd. Now FordEtis site shows my vin"Outstanding Field Service Actions

15B21 - A-PILLAR WATER LEAK INSPECTION AND REPAIR
My questions are should I take delievery? Has the repair been completed at the factory? Or should I just place a new order? :headscratch:

If I were you, I wouldn't take a chance with it. I'd talk to the dealer and order another one if waiting wasn't an issue.

  2. A pillars: The two sides of the windshield.

B pillars: the sides between front & rear doors.

C pillars: behind the rear doors.

D pillars: should be the sides of the rear tailgate. Sedans would not have D pillars.

    Thanks omar302!

  3. I ordered the 2015 Edge Sport, the Dealer placed the order Feb 18, it was built mid March and had an ETA of April 19. I pre-sold my 2013 Edge, detailed it and safitied it only for that date to be changed to "waiting delivery". Multiple calls to Ford Canada customer service have given me absolutely nothing and no one can give me any kind of estimate of when I can expect to see my vehicle. I canot even get a straight answer as to why there is a delay. I was told at one point that it was not affected by any quality control issue. It's now been 16 weeks, I'm super frustrated, especially with the lack of communication from Ford! I just want to get an ETA on this vehicle but no one seems to know anything (or at least that is what they keep telling me).

    Any suggestions?

    Hey Cheeky,

16 weeks is definitely a long wait. I would suggest contacting Mariel and/or Kwasi as they are our official Ford reps for Canada. I've contacted them via PM and their forum name is FordServiceCA. They've been great at helping me with my factory order.

  4. Welcome! That is one sick looking Edge! Black on black looks badass!

I'm glad to hear that yours hasn't suffered from the dreaded water leakage. Hopefully they've rectified the problem with the newer builds.

Nice to see a fellow Albertan on the site too! I used to be from Calgary!

  5. I'm really sad to hear this is happening. I think somebody said it's limited to the Sport models, Honestly, this is one of those problems that would make me never want to buy the brand again. Water damage is the worst. I'm still planning on buying the Edge, but it's a shame that such a big issue was missed. I hope it's due to a faulty part and not a production issue (eg: they never tested water tightness)

Reading the other thread, it sounds like one member had this problem on his SE model as well. I'm now worried about the Titanium that I ordered and that's en route to me. I can only hope that Ford identified the issue and resolved it before my Edge was built. Seems like a serious problem if the repair includes removing the entire dash.

  6. Thanks for sharing! That white and black looks so pro!

I'm glad to hear they did a good job repairing those issues and even more surprised that they would include the repair card. It's nice to see that they're pretty transparent about the whole process.

And fear not about the dirty hands! Priorities right!? ;)

  7. I just got my wifes White Edge Sport. It was made on May 7th but wasn't delivered till this past friday. (I live about 2 hours from the plant). A contact I have told me that they are sending a bunch of edges to Windsor for repair. There are lots of different reasons for repair. In my edge, there was a card with notes from the technician on the line pointing out issues that have to be repaired. On my edge, there was 3 issues. They were all repaired and looks like nothing ever happened.

Its good to hear that the problems were identified and repaired without issue Rob! I hope you and your wife have been enjoying your new Edge!

I'm now waiting for my titanium to ship as I think the build is nearing/finished completion. Just out of curiosity, what kind of issues were found on your Edge?

    Louis

  8. The cargo net is small for the edge in my opinion. The stock one in my Mustang is larger. You can hold maybe two grocery bags in it.

I like the cargo cover....I'm just trying to find a reason why I need it. Please someone convince me.

Security! Last thing you'd want is some lookie lou checking the back for a crime of opportunity ;)

  9. I did get my VIN yesterday, after ordering on April 29.

Your one step closer to getting your Edge!

I just checked etis ford this am and it looks like I finally have an actual build date of 28.05.2015.

Does that mean that my car has started being built on May 28 or if it was finished building that date? I received word from Mariel that my ETA is June 28, so I'm pretty pumped!

Oh and congrats Hum099 on your new sport! I too got the cargo package and am keen to know how it all looks! Please keep us updated.
