  1. uunfortunately we are on our own. the best thing to do is report it in the hopes that ford will make it a recall. other than cleaning, there was one member on here that had success using a magnetic switch to bypass the sensor. otherwise you have to take it to ford to clean and or replace the latch. i know tricia from ford reached out to members but it seems to be hit or miss. they were unable to help me and just got my edge from the dealership on my bill.

  2. what does bamr stand for? i have the accordion piece that came off completely not really sure how to resecure it back. for the time being tried to wedge it back and thinking of securing it with glue just not sure where. let me know how that goes, would love to hear feedback!

  3. after playing around with an electronic cleaner, i have found that the door works when the electronic solution is moist and is making contact, and doesnt work after it dries out. this leads me to believe that there is a loss in an electrical circut in some form or other, how i dont know. but i do believe that a physical replacement such as a new door latch is costly and will repeat itself in a few years. i think that the poster who mentioned a need for a ground as a fix to complete the electrical circuit hit the nail on the head so to speak. does anyone know how to set this up and can help me go about this? i would greatly appreciate it

  4. in january 2015 i bought a used 2012 ford edge with now 27k miles on it. i have now ran into the dreaded door ajar problem and thanks to this forum have read some threads and have tried the electronic cleaner with limited success, however, the problem persists. i am thinking of taking it in for a latch replacement as i have limited time to fix this myself. i am not sure what is covered under warranty but being used and given the year and miles would my car be under warranty to have this fixed? thank you for all the help, much appreciated
