  1. huh?

many of us here have already installed HIDs in our cars no problem.. and the whole kit (electronic ballasts and bulbs and all) are in the $200-400 range.. and some come with great ballast/bulb priduct warranties - like Lifetime!

    Lex,

Congrats on your 1000 Plus posts

You are a true "Edge Fanatic"

  2. I have and 08 Edge SEL AWD with 17" rims. I purchased Michelin X-Ice with steel rims. I bought 4 OEM TPMS sensors with the bands from the Ford dealership.

Unfortunately I'm having problems with the steel rims. The first tire shop, the rims were OK on the back, but didn't clear the front brake calipers. So, I returned them and got my money back. I went to another tire store and explained my situation and they said that the steel rims they would get me would fit the front. I purchased them and they still don't clear the front brake calipers. I'm kinda pissed about the whole thing now. I'm going back to the tire store on Monday morning first thing looking for answers.

    Comments?

go to tirerack.com or call them, I bought 2 diff sets with no problems, i would skip the sensors & put the money saved into alloy instead of steel, they are lighter, better looking, don't have hubs caps to fall off. Tire rack will also install the sensors free if you buy from them. They know their stuff.

  3. So, last night we finally had our first snowfall. I got up early this morning to put my new winter tires on. I did the rear first and all went well. Then when I did the front I noticed that the steel winter rims did not clear the front brakes. Anybody else have that problem with steel winter rims?

Go to tirerack.com. Their site checks compatibility & makes recommendations , and is usually has better prices. I used steel rims on my Honda Pilot and alloy on my Toyota Avalon. For about $50.00/wheel extra(alloy) you don't have to worry about plastic hubcaps cracking and falling off as they get older.Alloy rims also look better.I live in NJ and on hope the Michelin all seasons will be all I need for my Edge. The price I got was $1200 and that didnt include the TPMS. Since this is a leased vehicle and will be gone in 3 years I will get by with the all seasons.Back in 2005 the price was $600.00 for the steel and $800.00 for the alloy winter package. I also found out you don't need the reset tool if your just rotating the same tires.( I did that yesterday). If you plan on getting new rims for winter tires and are using to TPMS then you need the reset tool. Any Ford dealer can order one for $20.00.(faster & cheaper than ebaymotors) and no shipping cost.

  4. Just got a new '08 Edge Limited (wife is the primary driver) and we really like it. The Sync feature is great. She took it to Fargo from Mpls during an unpredicted Spring snowstorm without any problems. The Sirius radio was included and is something I would probably not have ordered, but we really like it. Traded an '05 Pacifica. Grandkids get a kick out of the GPS. :)

Good luck with your Edge. We also picked up our 08 limited a few weeks ago. Havn't put that many miles on. My wife has a Pilot is due back next week. We couldn't find an Edge with everything we wanted with out getting stuff we didnt want. The dealer said 6-8 weeks. It came in exactly 4 weeks later. Figured we would put the miles on the Honda. Just saw pictures of the 09 pilot, Ugly grill, Edge much better looking and my wife loves the BAMR and built in nav.
