  1. Blitz118 - congrats on your new ST - its a beautiful car and have no doubt its a better car than my 2015 Sport. The reason I kept my 2015 Sport is that it had only 14k miles on it, in showroom condition and the buyout was reasonable (26K) - Plus I have every option on it that was available at the time as I special ordered it. What I did instead is lease a Escape Titanium for my wife - she was driving a 16 year old mini van and it was time to replace it even thou she wanted to keep it. I have to say the SYNC 3 is a major improvement over SYNC2, and I love the heated steering wheel ('15 Sports did not offer the cold weather package). Anyway enjoy your ST - hopefully I will own one some day but for now, I still love my '15 Sport and could not justify a current upgrade to 50K vehicle.

  2. So you are saying the ST was tested at 5000 ft and the 2015 Sport was tested at sea level - the explanation why the 2015 Sport performed so well vs. the ST?

I wish all the new ST owners the best, but for me, I would wait until these performance bugs are worked out - that's what you are paying for. I may be a little bias, but I am glad I am holding on to my 2015 Sport, especially since it only has 14K miles on it.

  3. enigma-2 - Could not agree with you more, that's why I purchased it thru Ford. The original price of the car special ordered was 48K so $150 bucks won't kill me. And this is my first navi update in 3 years. Btw, I just purchased a 2018 Ford Escape Titanium for my wife and Sync 3 and the navi is a major improvement. At some point I will need to know how to update that Navi system.

  4. I have a 2015 sport - just ordered a new navigation SD - version A9 - my car, built in October 2016, had the version A6. For those that have Sync2, there is a database version worksheet to follow to determine if the update will work. Basically, CCPU version with the last five digits greater or equal to 12285, the updated SD card will work. Anything with an other CCPU version, you have to check - if its certain numbers, you may need to take your vehicle back to the dealership to do a software update. Go to settings icon the press help then system information to check. The cost is $150 for the SD card.

  5. I just bought my 2015 Ford Edge sport off its lease. I received it on 10/25/15 - I special ordered it. Its fully loaded with every option available for a 2015 sport. I only have 13,800 miles on it so there was no way I was going to turn it back it. It really looks showroom new as I am very picky about caring for my car. I know it does not have Sync 3, but I rather like Sync 2 my ford touch - the layout makes sense to me. I just updated the version to 3.10 and felt the process was rather easy to do. I did buy the extended warranty directly thru Ford. My buyout was 26,800. The new ST looks nice, and the updated options are great, but I could not justify the upgrade. Plus I like the front façade better and the full tail light on my car more than the 2019's. Also, my wife, who is not a car person, was still driving a 16 year old Honda mini van. I upgraded her to a 2018 fully loaded Ford Escape Titanium - we pick that up tomorrow. We are leasing this vehicle - the end of September deals on 18's are amazing. So I will still get to play with Sync 3.

  6. Same problem initially with the 21's - there was an error earlier in the year on the Ford build site that said they only came in summer tires. This did not make sense to me so pressed my dealer to make calls to fine out - it was an error and 21's in the US do come in all season - the reason I changed my build / order from 20's to 21's

  7. I have 21"'s - my dealer offered tire and rim protection so if I blow a tire or damage my rims it is covered, for as many times that happens (hope it never does) - it added just under 10 bucks more a month to my lease but for me it was a no brainer considering how bad the roads are around here in winter and spring (PA). With my white Sport, I like the blacked out rims to offset the light body color.

Denicio - I ordered my sport on 5/26/15 but was held up for the release of the driver's assistance package (adaptive cruise control). It was built on 10/17 and in my hands on 10/26 - sounds like I got lucky. In the short time I have had the car, I have been extremely happy with it. I was in the same situation you are in right now - the new Edge fit what I was looking for and there is really not much comparison out there. I too am concerned about Ford's reliability - I owned a Ford Explorer 12 years ago and the transmission went on it at 80K. At that point I went to Honda / Acura products and never had an issue. I decided to give Ford another shot, with the new Edge. What I decided to do is lease the vehicle and try to get the best buyout price that I could get - I take very good care of my vehicles and at the end of the lease term if the car is reliable I will buy it out - if not I will move on. The my ford touch works very well - for all the bashing it gets I have been very happy with the system - my hope is Ford continues to run MFT updates to the system and from what I have read they will. Snyc 3 with wifi updates is great but for me, I wanted / needed a car this year.

I had the Ford All Season mats at first before the weather techs. The Ford All Season are pretty much worthless when it comes to snow / salt. They are a nice upgrade from the standard mats but if you are serious about keeping crap off your floor, weather tech is worth the money. Just pull them out, dump out the dirt and water. Your floors will remain looking brand new.

I use weather tech digital liners all year round in my Mustang and now my edge.

Thanks - I think I will consider them - especially on the drivers side - I hate winter salt and what it does to my vehicles.
