  1. 2013

    Tl of all payments:$276x2x12x6= $39,744

    Tl of Interest: $276x0.065x2x12= $2,583

    2015

    Tl of all payments:$290x2x12x7= $48,720

    Tl of Interest:$290x0.0299x2x12x7= $1,457

Anyway, as you do a lot of driving, if it were me, I would go for the 2015, with its newer technology and warranty. (Assuming you can afford the extra cost of the payments).

Here in Indiana, we would also have to consider the additional cost of 7% sales tax and excise tax imposed on the license plate. Don't know what additional taxes you have to consider up north, but would need to take these into consideration as well.

In Canada we would only pay a 5% tax on the difference between the used car and the new car price. There is a provincial sales tax as well depending on where you live, again on the difference. I agree with enigma's math, its spot on. 25,000km per year is really not much over the average, however if you keep the edge to the end of the finance term on either one, both vehicles will have enough mileage on them to make the resale value poor. The difference in payments is $30 a month plus one more year. If ou can afford that I would go with the 15 because of factory warranty and it has the options you want. Let us know what you decide.

  2. I put Blizzaks on my Mustang and they work awesome IMO. I have had others in the past and I find these to be one of the best. I now park the mustang so dont use them anymore. I have annew to me 2013 AWD Edge limited with Michelin all seasons. I will try these out for a while and see if I need to get dedicated winter tires. It is too bad they don't fit the Edge.

  3. If you want to install HID in your 13 SEL, ask your dealer to change the DRL from headlights to parking lamps. This way your HID lamps won't be on all the time. Plus the lower voltage to the headlights while in DRL mode will be eliminated.

I had this done on mine. Took 5 minutes. I then installed a HID kit. Big improvement.

Thanks Normcloutier. I have a limited but would think the DRL's set up is the same.

  4. HIDs retrofitted in a reflector headlight is a very bad thing. You will blind other drivers no matter what. Just because of optics laws.

A while back I had 9006 HID kit on my 2005 Ford Freestyle and I still feel the shame for being careless.

In halogen projector headlights HIDs are somewhat acceptable.

Vadimus, I checked the part numbers and the factory headlight assembly is the same wether you have factory HID's or not. The olny difference I see is the bulb itself and of course the ballasts. I guess I have to ask is the edge's headlight assembly a reflector headlight?

  5. I just bought a 2013 Edge limited. It did not come with HID's. Since this is a Canadian car the DRL's are located in the headlights. Does anyone know if HID's are capable of running DRL's thru them? I went to drivebright site and found some great HID kits with LED strips that he uses for DRL's. My question is can I move the DRL's from the headlights to the strip lights? I have read a post where someone had the dealer can program DRL's to either headlight or strip light. Anyone confirm this?
