  1. Started too but can't seem to get it off all the way. I can unhook the top part of the cover but there are 2 other clips I cant get too.

Pull the bag off, then take the wheel off. I believe you can take the plastic off the back side of the wheel, that should make the buttons accessible. To take the wheel off you need to put a tiny screwdriver or small pick in the small holes in the side of the wheel to release the spring that holds the bag in place. There's a YouTube video of it if you need.

  2. Was going to post this in my vinyl thread but didn't know how many people would actually see it

anybody have a diagram or can make a video of removing them? They do pull out a little but it seems like there is a bolt holding them behind the airbag cover and I don't want to go yanking things out and break more stuff.

Have you tried pulling the bag off?

  3. So wouldn't every Edge leak then? Since they all used the same foam sealer?

I wish I worked at a Ford dealership instead of a Lincoln dealership. I would be able to answer the question better if I saw what all the leaky cars had in common. All I can do is go off of what I saw on mine.

I know there was a bit of a hold on the MKX for sealer reasons though. Makes me wonder what was up. It's like they where waiting till the Edge was "worked out" we didn't start getting the new ones in stock till just before I got my Edge, and that was when all the issues where supposedly fixed.

    Kind of weird is all....

  4. So wouldn't every Edge leak then? Since they all used the same foam sealer?

I think there may be inconsistencies in the build with the way the panels meet up. I have a good sized gap between the two panels. I still wonder why mine didn't decide to leak until 3700 miles. I wash my car twice a week at minimum, you would think I would have noticed this before now. Unless maybe it has been leaking and just accumulated enough water in the foam that's inside the A-pillar to start pouring in. (Might have been a time thing, needed to build up) I don't know really, it's all a mystery to me right now. All I know is what I did fixed the problem and the sealer that was there wasn't doing the job. I still feel the sealer used on that seam should only be used in sound deadening situations like it was designed for.

  5.

I'd be curious if the foam sealer used on your Edge was defective? Not the correct mix/solution? Because there are plenty of Edges out there with the factory foam sealer with zero leaks.

I don't think it was directive.... I'm a bodyman, it looks and acts like all the rest of the foam I deal with in these cars. The next time I see the same sealer in a Ford and I have to take it out I will do a water test.

  6. So where was your leak coming from?

Behind the hood hinge area where they where forgotten in the beginning of the production. Mine had a 1" or so wide foam strip of seam sealer on the seam but, It seems the foam sealer used at the factory is absorbing water and leaking in water. I put the scope right on that seam and watched in just trickle in. I hope I have it sealed, sure do miss my ride. Next thing to fix is the hot spot in the seat back when running the A/C seats.

    Ha ha

  7. dt; Look @ the pinned post on the top of this page for some replies to your question. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18423-post-15b21-leak-repair-follow-up-report/

Thank you... yes, I read all of the posts on the site that I found regarding the leaks.. I was hoping for some more specific answers to maybe help figure this out.

I did in fact find my leak with an endoscope today. I did some removal of the old caulk, and put what I know works on there. (Body man of 27 years) Time for a water test tomorrow. If it works I will be redoing the other side too.

  8. I just just recently leased a new Ford Edge that was built in July. It has been a great car for me, until last weekend when it decided to spring a leak on the drivers floor. But wait, I am supposed to have one built after the problems where sorted out right? Nope, still there...

Anyway, the reason for this thread is; I would like to know out of everyone that has had the leak happen to them. Do they have a Vista roof? Also... Does anyone with the leak have a solid roof?

Any replies would be great, as I am a Ford Tech and would like to figure this out some how. Finding similarities might help figuring out the problem.

    Thanks all.

  9. Hi, I have a 2015 Edge vin ending, 72350 built in July. Leased in August. I have loved every minute of my new Edge for the past 4 months, until finding my drivers floor soaked this past weekend. A buddy and I have now nick named the car "drip-edge"
