Hadn't considered that, I can see your point. Reminded me of when I was on a business trip around the city years ago. Was on the freeway headed to LaGuardia. Traffic running 90+mph, bumper-to-bumper. The guy in back of me was bumping into my rear end, I was bumping into the car in front of me. Worst place to drive anywhere in North America. If it hadn't been a Avis would gave wanted bigger bumpers. Still doesn't look good though.

and thats exactly the area i live in, Queens haha So, imagine dealing with that almost everyday. If i lived elsewhere, then id have no reason for the bumper bars but as you experienced what i go through DAILY, it just seems a better idea for my situation.

I think the bars make the car look chintzy. Might consider adding curb scrapers on to match. LOL.

same question. I just got a 2010 edge sport too was looking at making the grille tuxedo black like the car. I cant find a non chrome grille online to buy and paint. I gotta get my bumper done anyway so i figured if I found a primed one or whatever I can knock out 2 birds with one stone at the shop.

Where did you get your lighted sills from? Will they fit a '11 Sport?

Long time no posts here, From Queens, right now living on the NY/CT border. Someone mentioned previously about those meetups in whitestone, I used to live down the block from there. Anyway I just picked up a 2010 Black Edge Sport. Love the car so far. Looking at dropping a few mods. So far I got lined up, push bars (NYC parking thats why), new audio unit, illuminated door scuff plates, HID, Black Grille. Thats it for now.

actually, its a hole. Tow hook punctured the lower rear bumper. I guess I should have made a close up showing its not just a scratch hahaha

Welcome, lpuboy, and congrats on the new ride! FWD/AWD? Haven't seen bumper bars on an Edge, looking forward to the mods (& PICS).

 

Maintenance will bring about the greatest reward for your Edge, especially if it has an "unknown" history. So I'd add that to my TO-DO list as well. Spark plugs, PCV valve, trans fluid, coolant, brake fluid, etc. A couple of tanks of fuel injector cleaner (like Techron or BG 44K) couldn't hurt either.

Thanks!!! its AWD. Yeah, I seen a few people say the same about the bumper bar, but living in NYC, they do come in handy. Dont want people scratching up your bumpers from parking on the street on a regular basis. I figured they would save a headache or two. The cars history is clean, been regularly maintained at Ford dealerships. I got it at a Ford place too, so they gave it a run through again before i picked it up. I just need to take it in again because I started having the squeaky sound from the seat that other people mentioned on the forum. Last week, I did get rear ended, I made a post about repairing the lower bumper in the Exterior thread.

Hows it going everyone, Last week my Edge Sport got rear ended on the highway and the other car had a tow hook that put a hole into the lower part of my rear bumper. The other driver is paying for the repairs, I just want to confirm the part that im looking at swapping out. I posted a link below and picture of where the damage was done. If someone can confirm thats the correct part and # or can point me to a site where I can get a list of all part #'s that would be great!!! Also, to prevent such damage or scratches, I was looking at putting the metal bar in the front and back. I seen on a few sites that the bar for the SE or SEL dosnt fit the Sport model, Can anyone confirm this? is there something different between the Sport and SEL models? I provided a link below to show what im looking at. Any help is appreciated!!!! Thanks!!!

Hey its going everyone!!! I recently just picked up a 2010 Ford Edge Sport. So far, absolutely love the car. Seen the car at a dealership and loved the style of it, drove it around and next thing you know, I purchased it I got a great deal on it and i couldn't refuse. I have a few plans for it so far. I want to add the bumper bars for front and back and put in a new pioneer audio system. Looking forward to learning more about it and some DIY tips/plans.
