  1. Lol, my "blackout" kit is in the mail. Where did you gets yours and how much? What is the name of that color?

I got it from Tower Decals, on eBay; the kit was 29.99:

They are carbon fiber background with glossy black lettering.

Please also post pictures from a distance to show how the Edge now looks.

Will do! Looks a lot like Nick's but the badges are more matte.

  2. So since everyone has noticed different quality sound based on the source, you think an update should fix this? Akirby, would you know if a future update would fix this?

Doubtful - I've noticed the same thing in other vehicles over the years - Bluetooth sounding OK and USB sounding great, in particular. Sirius I'm not so sure about.

For the OP, here's that shot I promised of my settings. Also, I'm in Surround mode and balance/fade are set to default:

  3. I did get a chance to adjust per some of the posts here. Does sound a bit better. Still certainly not one of the highlights of a very nice vehicle I'm wondering how much difference changing the door speakers would make. Seems like the speaker(s) in the dash are quite pronounced (and muddy) but next to impossible to access in all likelihood(?).

Anyone have any success improving the sound with the 12 speaker Sony system?

I've been in my 2016 Sport for about a week now and was disappointed with the sound at first but am very happy now after adjustments! Later tonight I'll take a picture of my settings and post, but the big thing I've noticed is that Sirius sort of sucks period, Bluetooth is better, and USB audio is great especially when streaming from a good source (like FLAC audio).

  4. We have had several hot day 88-93 degs and I used the seat AC a couple times. the backs did not fix themselves since my last visit for the TSB seat cooling.

I'll have to see if there is a 2016 edge sport and try that seat AC. hope there is new info before the summer hits.

The seatback cooling on my '16 Edge Sport has been great so far.

  5. I think he was asking about sync3 vs. sync, not sync3 vs. MFT.

Sync just gives you simple voice control and the ability to plug in a usb stick, phone or ipod to play music.

Sync 3 gives you the 8" touch screen, access to Siri for iphone/ipad users and future upgrades to support apple carplay and android auto plus the option of Factory navigation (must be purchased with the vehicle).

After looking at the actual vehicle options page, you're totally right. Even more worth the upgrade, in this case!

  6. In my experience, totally worth it. I was shopping for an Edge Sport and was going to get a 2015 until I actually used Sync 3 - I waited on the 2016 in large part due to Sync 3 and couldn't be happier.

The Sync 3 system is far more responsive; it has a capacitive touch screen instead of a resistive touch screen, meaning that it can take multiple "inputs" at the same time. This allows for things like pinch-to-zoom on the map in addition to the added sensitivity and responsiveness.

Additionally, the Sync 3 system is going to last you longer - perhaps more important if you're purchasing than if you're leasing. Carplay/Android Auto are coming to Sync 3 later this year, which is nice.

  7. Hi everyone,

First post here, but I've done a lot of browsing over the last weeks!

I'm going to be graduating into the Ford Edge family soon. I was going to get a 2015, but after actually using the Sync 3 recently I've decided that it's worth jumping into a 2016 instead.

However, I'm very much wavering between the Titanium FWD and the Sport.

Advantages in the Titanium, as I see them:

    • 2.0L v4 turbo engine drives very similarly to the v6 that is available outside of the Sport, and beats the Sport by a ~4mpg on average, especially since they've done away with FWD on the 2016 sport.
    • Cost savings of several thousand dollars
    • Very comfortable ride

    Advantages in the Sport:

    • More fun ride
    • Better in inclement weather
    • I like the trim/look better

    My use case:

    • 99% city driving, lots of freeways (los angeles area)

Is there anything that I'm not thinking of, here? Any recommendations from you Edge vets?

    Thanks!!!
