Hi We have had our 2008 Edge SEL about a year. The shifter light has worked,but then stopped. If you tap on the plastic prndl panel the light comes on and continues to work until the lights are shut off,then it doesn't light again without tapping on it.
My questions are: Is there a lighted panel under the clear panel with two wires coming from it like the pictures I have seen. Do I have to remove the shifter to get to that light panel? Is it a dealership only item?
Also- How hard would it be to install puddle lights (not stick on type) in the mirrors? There seems to be indentations under each of the outside mirrors.
