  1. If the Airbag light is not coming on, I'd suggest checking for trouble codes before attempting a fix.

Makes sense, I've read a lot of people saying it burns out due to being on all the time because of a trouble code. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've only dealt with check engine codes. Would airbag codes come up the same way as a DTC on an OBDII scanner? I would just go out and check, but my wife and I often work opposite shifts, so I am just trying to plan to do this next weekend and want to make sure I have everything ready to go. Thanks for the help.

  2. It would probably be a lot cheaper to just have it repaired. Here's an example of one shop that does it for around $150: https://circuitboardmedics.com/ford-instrument-cluster-repair/?sort=featured&page=1

Google ford instrument panel repair. You might get lucky and find someone local that performs this service.

Consider talking to your local service manager and see if he knows of any lcoal service that he would recommend.

Thanks for the recommendation, they said they don't do anything with the myford touch clusters, but I really do think it will be an easy fix if i can just find the LED to replace it with. Looks like just a tiny bit of soldering from these pics I found from the fusion forum: http://www.fordfusionforum.com/topic/7158-custom-gauge-cluster/ Anyone know where I can buy something like this? I'm pretty sure it should be amber in color.

  3. Throw out some thoughts.

All your doors shut tight, including the rear hatch? (Try manually opening shutting all).

Does the airbag light illuminate when you start the car? (Bad buld/circuit has a beep warning that's intermittent). Either 5x5 or 3x2 dings. Is the airbag light lit after running? (Used car, no airbag, bad ground, burnout buld).

    Try fastening the passenger seatbelt.

If it stops, try unplugging and the replugging the connecters under the front seats.

As it's a pattern, soulds like an error code (simular to that of a personal computer when it couldn't display the problem on the screen it will issue beeps). Try to catch the pattern, such as 3 beeps, them 2 beeps, short silence then it repeats. Airbag is 5 chimes for 5 times, the silence. Repeats after several minutes.

Ford has a beep warning built in to indicate a problem it has detected, if it can't inform you otherwise. Catch the pattern and Google it such as "Ford beep 3+2". Kind of sounds like the airbag light is bad, except it shouldn't be doing this with the key out. Only alarm I can think of when the car is off is the headlight alarm.

One additional thought. How old is your battery?

I am having this problem with the beeping and I found a post saying that it could be the airbag light. I checked and sure enough, my airbag light does not come on when I turn the key. Every other light in the instrument cluster lights up, except for the airbag light. Having it narrowed it down to that, how do I fix this issue? Is it a situation where I can remove the instrument panel and replace a bulb/LED or re-solder the board? Do I have to buy a whole new instrument panel? Please help, my wife is going crazy with the beeping!
