  1. It is my understanding that the "engine off load shed" feature was not connected to the auxiliary power points (that is, they are always on). They are powered directly through the Battery Junction Box and not through the Smart Junction Box.

Unlike the 120 volt Power point the shuts off when the battery reaches 11 volts, these will completely drain the battery if allowed.

If the car has been running upon cutting the car off the accessory outlet remains energized for a lengthy period of time (30 mins or more) it eventually cuts off.

On the other hand. Once off...if the radio is powered on...the circuit cuts on...cut radio off circuit cuts off. You can cut radio on and off without keys by pressing on button.

I want my device I use for work to come on and off with the switch but not to cut off an hour later.

Fuse 23 shows as delayed accessory I may have to see if this operates the way I need it to.

  2. Nice work, did you get power tot eh amp from the battery or tapped it from somewhere else?.. I am trying to install my HAM io and need power from the battery.. Thank you in advance

I got directly from the battery. On a 2016 there is a factory grommet on the firewall to the left of the steering column...comes out under battery box...I ran to the right (from under dash) and used factory wire secure points. See photos of how i made custom bracket to hold fuse holder as near to battery as possible.

  3. You are talking about the little one already attached? I don't know why that specifically is there. I'm looking at Infinity's website now and they show the frequency response for the speaker is 85Hz - 21kHz. I misread the low on that previously as 32Hz (how I managed that, I have no idea!). My guess is that the small built-in one is a very low level bass blocker itself, filtering out below 85Hz to keep this small speaker from trying to produce levels it can't possibly reproduce satisfactorily.

Edit: as a side note, I likely am NOT going to use the Polk Audio set for the doors I mentioned previously. One review on Crutchfield's site claimed the bass was distorted from these speakers, and Crutchfield responded saying they need a bit more power than some of the alternatives due to their high RMS rating of 100 (peak of 300 watts). That's a really good point so I'm looking for something with an RMS of 50 watts or so (peak of 100 watts or so). The Memphis Audio 15-PRX6C looks promising. Anyone know what the factory amp output is?

The one that is already there acts a a crossover for the tweeter and protects the tweeter from low frequency. If you apply a capacitor to the entire speaker it will effect the frequency the tweeter is crossed over at but should not be an issue unless you are building a sound quality vehicle and need to adjust more precise.

  4. I love my Scosche Magnamount. I got the suction cup mount to windshield style. It has stayed in place since the first time I adhered it and the grip from the magnet is super strong.

No worries of it falling off.

Mounted on the far left corner of driver side it was easy to run a USB charge cable to it and access navigation with eyes on the road.

  5. it's a pain in the ass! the it's like 3 clips (think 3) and the front clip is easy (towards mirror controls) the bottom clip and the back (towards hatch) are a BITCH, It's going to feel like you are breaking the piece.

You read my mind. I have removed many a door panel but was like "am I about to break this?" I finally got it but you are correct it took a lot of upward pressure to release the (2) clips in the handle cup.

Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for the reply.

  6. Does your Edge have the Sony premium system? If so, where did you install your LOC?

I ordered this vehicle specifically with a base audio system so upgrading would not be as difficult to integrate into vehicle. As for now I am using factory ford sync head unit (not Sync 3) with a Euphoria EDSP31v2 DSP unit from DB Research.

I tapped signal behind the (ACM) Audio Front Control Module "AKA the CD player unit"

I would have to research to see where the Sony premium systems best available place to connect LOC at.

  7. Nice install. I've been looking at the low profile JL's to retain the spare tire. Any plans to move beyond just sub upgrade?

I have replaced all factory locations with upgraded speakers and amplification. (still working on center stage speaker)

At some point in the future I will upgrade head unit. Hoping an aftermarket kit manufacturer will have a kit available after CES this year. If not I will be forced to custom modify dash to accommodate an aftermarket unit.

I am very pleased with factory unit for now. The EDSP31v2 has high level input availability plus auto senses signal and comes on and off with factory head
