Thanks. I would think Ford could fix their blend door issues, as long as they have had them.

Sorry, I meant 74,000 miles.

I have a 2014 Edge with manual temperature controls. All of the climate controls work as advertised, except for the temperature knob. This control does not change anything, and I can not get any heat. I purchased it with about 7000 miles, and have driven about 1000 miles. I am hoping that this is not an expensive blend door issue like I had on my 2008 Taurus.

It shits ok in the lower gears, and only seems to shift hard when downshifting from 6th to 5th at highway speeds when it needs more power. No change from when I first posted.

Any further updates on the transmission. Have you had it looked at. I have been driving mine like an old granny lately trying to get at least 24 mpg on my 11 mile on way mostly city commute lately and it seems to like to be driven that way. Just wanted to see what yours was up to as of late.

Thank you for the replies.
It is mostly a downshift issue when more power is needed, and is even evident wit cruise control on. I may consider the Ford Premium Care, though I have not normally purchased extended warranties. I will check the fluid, and ask about updates. Is there anything in the basic Sync system that would indicate if the proper updates are in place? I have had such a good experience with my 2008 Taurus that this issue caught me by surprise.

Ecoboost engine 75000 miles

I just purchased a 2014 Edge with the economist engine and it is shifting hard especially when down shifting at highway speeds. I have not been able to find anything on this topic, but it is disappointing, and make me worry about the transmission long term. Has anyone else seen this issue?

I never did anything, and so far have just been dealing with the hard downshift. My dealer near me wants over $100 jut to see if is operating improperly, and the transmission shop that will diagnose for $0 is across town.
