  1. Purchased the 35w kit from drive brite about a year ago. Had a year of perfect function, then my drive side went out...contacted dan and he sent me a new set of bulbs, no questions asked. Then about 2 months later my passenger went out. Installed the second bulb of the new set he gave me, and now its flickering and not turning on.

I thought you only need the relay if you went high wattage? Im probably gonna install it tonight or just switch back to plain ol halogens because its been a pretty frustrating experience.

  2. I used 3m on my 2016. My only gripe, minor, is the color hue isnt the same as factory tint. So when you are looking into traffic to turn left on your right side, you might see the purple hue of the stock tint and the grey of the 3m. From the outside, it doesnt look any different. But i went 25 i think.

  3. Installed my Drivebright HID kit last night and everything went fine. Only issue is when my car is set to Auto, the lamps are always on. If i toggle the "daytime running lights" in the dash, when the auto has determined the lights to be off, it turns off the LEDs and lamps.

Dan said i shoudl hook up the harness for my 35w kit, but i havent gotten him to respond as to why, seeing that his instructions say to only add the harness if the lights flicker.

anybody know if adding the harness fixes the lights being on and off with the auto function?

  4. Well THAT (replacing the USB hub in my Edge so I could have Car Play) took longer than expected. Word to the wise who plan to swap USB hubs -- it looks deceptively easy. Pop out the old one, plug in the new one and pop it back in. With new trim tools and detailed advice from this thread and from threads on other forums, I thought I was ready, but that hub is in there really, really tight. I essentially had to destroy the old hub to get it out -- it came out in two pieces. (I'm fairly handy with tools, but I even called a local dealer and set up a Monday appointment to have them do the swap, just in case.) If you don't mind destroying the old hub, it's easier I guess. LOL. Fortunately, no damage to the cubby area, except the two little round bumpers in the front corners came out. Pix attached of the old and busted hub, as well as how the new one looks. Good luck peeps!

Went through about the same as you. Maybe i wasnt experienced enough on how to pry these things out, but it took me a good while. I initially started from the left as well and eventually got the bottom to come up but couldnt get the top. Probably spent about an hour or so before i finally gave it a good pull and it yanked out with the help of the trim tool with the circle on it. Didnt mar it up as much as yours did, but if i would have used something other than at trim tool, it would haha.

  5. Installed last night without issues on a 16 titanium no nav. I also got the USB module part from Walt Sweeney in town. Its the white LED one. Parts guy said 120+ have been sold in the last 2 days and they ordered 150 more. The removal was not easy. I bought the harbor freight trim kit and still had a hard time getting the clips to come lose. I saw that the orientation of the hub in the f150s is horizontal, which would be much easier. Eventually got it out and carplay works. Pretty awesome.
