  1. I just traded in my 07 MKX (loaded) with 22,000 miles and last week picked up my 09 MKX pretty much loaded including the 20" wheels.

I loved the 07 and took it three times to the beach house in Gulf Shores and once to the Smokey Mountains; rides great on long trips and now I like the 09 even more; gas mileage seems better, the nav system with Sync is over the top and even has weather radar with the Sirius Travel Link.

My 07 stayed on the dealer lot exactly 2 hours before it was sold!

    Love the vehicle. . . .

  2. Thank you. :hyper:

Mine is SEL+ AWD, and I got some really bad MPG before I hit this trip, 100% city was 12.1MPG and never go over 13, I guess you can't get any lower than this. 50/50 was about 16MPG. I don't know if that bad MPG has anything to do with the 'break-in period' (dealer says 5000KM), since mine is about 6000KM now I hope I could see some gain (in Vancouver gas price is 1.20/L!!!). :happy feet:

I have had my AWD MKX for two weeks and from the start was seeing 18.5 to 19.2 on a mix of highway and city. Continues to be as good as or better than the Mercury Mariner AWD Premier i traded in for the MKX. Really love this MKX and respectable mileage. . .

  3. I have seen people post pics with Mobile-Ease installed in their vehicles and I also see the Nav System which has Voice Control capiblities, just not on the Edge because of the lack of internal Mic, installed in their vehicles. Does the Mic on the Mobile-Ease enable Voice Control over the Nav? :sos:

Nope, the mic on Mobile-ease is strictlly for the phone and is independant of the Nav system.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Is there an external antenna that is also included when you get mobile-ease

Nope, it uses your mobile phone antenna. Remember that the Mobile-ease is using your cell phone via Blue Tooth to connect so the concept is the same as using a Blue Tooth headset but Mobile-ease directs it through your audio system in the car.

Works very similar to the hands free system in the GM products that have OnStar in that Mobile-ease allows you to use voice command calling, etc. My only dissappointment is that the sound quality coming through the speaker is not quite as good as the OnStar but it i do like it verses using a headset or ear piece.

    Hope this helps.

  5. The BAMR stops in these seemingly random spots for 'Comfort and Convenience' according to Ford. It seems these settings minimize wind and road noise. Forget that though, I always open mine, go big or GO HOME!!!!

Ordered my MKX on the 27th of January, arrived at the Dealer on Monday this week (19th), had Mobile-ease installed and picked it up today :hyper: (I was out of town all week).

Pretty much fully loaded vehicle and I absolutely love it. :happy feet:

  6. Bob,

It will tell you in the owners manual what bulbs you need for replacement bulbs. I know on the Edge, the low beams and fogs are H11. The high beams are 9005. Definately look in your owners manual as it will tell you what series of bulbs you need. Another good company to look into is Hoen USA, that is where I purchased my bulbs from. I will see if I can get pictures up tonight.

Perfect; I appreciate your rsponse and thanks for the information.

  7. I finally decided to upgrade my headlight for better performance and style. Stock low beam bulb is bit yellow like most stock halogen bulbs which doesn't stands out at night. Since our headlight does not have the lenses so HID won't be an option. Fog light I picked Yellow, as you know, Vancouver has weather. :reading:

    Shipping list is:

    1. 1 set of MTEC 4350K Super White H11

    2. 1 set of MTEC 3300K Ion Yellow H11

Both from eBay and cost me $70CAD including S/H (shipping took 2 days via Fedex from Taiwan), and both are rated at 55W just like our stock bulbs so I think there won't be any melting problem. And this dealer offers LIFETIME WARRANTY for their bulbs too.

Installation only takes about 20 minutes, there are lots of space under the hood so you can easily remove the low beam bulbs and replace them. Fog light is little hard to reach if you don;t want get under the car, but it still not that hard once you have the connector removed from the bulb. Just be careful not to touch the bulb glass because the oil on our hands will cause overheating to the bulb, that may reduce bulb life.

    This is the result:

Low beam is about 20% to 50% better than the stock in performance, and looks much better at night. Fog light is WAY better than the stock, not just the performance (now you can clear see the light beam from them so the others), they also add a 'PRO' look to my EDGE, I think.

    UG,

What did you use as a cross reference to find the correct bulbs. Want to add these to my MKX but don't really know which bulbs to order. . . the person ebay doesn't know either. Did you just cross reference the original bulbs or???

    Thanks for the help.

  8. Dan, I hit the Blueoval forum like you recommended and like you said...I got my VIN tracked! I was expecting my Edge early/ mid-April and after the VIN check, looks like I'll have her in a couple of weeks. I'm stoked!!!!

Thanks again Dan, we need more helpful people like you in the forums! :happy feet:

Where on blueovalforum.com did you look and get the info? Thanks for your help.

  9. The rear cargo management system was the only option that didnt come from the long list we asked for our dealer to look around for. We were quoted the MSRP for the aftermarket purchase and installation of $315 (inc. the tire cover), way too much for a piece of plastic, so we are sticking with the foam insert that comes standard. I dont know if this price will drop or others will make a similar generic product, but for now we will live and keep the 300!

I have an MKX on order (should arrive on the 19th) and the cargo management system which I ordered was a $65.00 option.
