Update: I was able to track the problem, the system I have does not have an external amp. I traced the problem to the door speaker. The coil was open and a new speaker fixed it.

I Have had this car for about a month and love it. I bought it used from my neighbor who owns a dealer across the street. I have been fixing some of the minor issues it has but before I begin, I am curious if model has an amplifier or if it is integrated into the head unit. It is the 6 CD changer with sync and no navigation. Also, it is the 4 speaker system. My passenger front door speaker is not working. I hope it is a wire or something stupid, even if I had to replace the speaker, it wouldn't be a big deal. I do like the factory head unit because of the USB, Sirius, and the 6 Disk Changer and it doesn't sound bad at all. I am also good at repairing electronics if the amp is bad. I don't want to tear into the wiring blind, and want to keep the factory system if I can.

I have all the records from the first owner, It was a fleet vehicle. Oil done ever 5-6k and Trans changed every 60. I also have the records from the second owner and they followed basically the same schedule. I have to Lubricate and clean the track for the sunroof, but that can wait for warmer weather. As for the Compass error, I suspect the wiring is damaged. It looks like the windshield was replaced and there is a nick on some of the wires going to the rear view. I had an Explorer in college that had the same problem. Other than that, I am finding reasons to drive this thing.

I just picked this thing up yesterday, she has a 2 minor issues, but overall I LOVE IT!!! Need to figure out why the compass data error won't go away and the vista roof sticks. I even have all the maintenance records from the previous owners and it has been well cared for inside and out. 167,000 on the clock. I'm going to be using it for Uber.
