  1. The no key detected thing happened to me yesterday. I unlocked the door with the handle touch like normal and when I got in and pushed the start button, I the the message. That same day, the wipers wouldn't turn on and the remote start began to malfunction. The wipers began to work after a few minutes of drying. The Ford remote start fob used to require two short presses, now it needs one press of @10 seconds to work. Very strange. It's a 2016 with @6600 miles.

  2. Had a family member drive the car, and found no issues. Said it's the tires, they are just cheap tires. Also read reviews on the Pirelli scorpions, and they all talked about excessive road noise. I went back to the Ford dealership today and they gave me a really hard time. I decided to just replace the tires. Really irritated to have to by new tires for a car with only 1400 miles. the road noise is just driving me crazy!!!!

I've got 6k miles on mine and have what sounds like tire noise. The dealer said they can find nothing mechanically wrong. I drove one on the lot with the same mileage and it had the same noise. My noise wasn't there a month ago. Did the new tires fix your problem? What were your original tires and what did you replace them with?

  3. We have a 2016 Edge Sport, currently at 4,500 miles. It has gear whine noise at 40 mph, and you can make it louder by slightly accelerating and deaccelersting. It sounds to me like the transfer case, or whatever they call the unit that sends power to the four wheels. We'll ask about it when we go in for our complimentary oil change this month and I will report back.

Please let us know what you find out!

  4. Need some more details on your Edge. What trim level, engine & transmission do you have? Can you post a video/audio clip of the sound? Wheel bearings typically are isolated by listening while turning to the left/right. Whichever direction the sound goes away, the wheel bearing on that side is defective.

SEL, 2.0 liter ecoboost with the standard issue automatic transmission. I'm starting to think it may be the tires. It's not really distinct enough to be recorded.

  5. My 2016 Edge that just turned 6k miles has all of a sudden developed a noise that sounds like a wheel bearing. The dealer mechanic drove with me in the vehicle and hears it too. It wasn't there a month ago. He initially thought it could be in the transmission but when he looked it over he couldn't find anything. He claims that another on the lot with the same mileage makes the same noise, therefore the noise is "normal" For me, it's unbearable. Any suggestions on what it might be and how I can get the mechanic's attention on it?
