  1. Looks good in there, Cellbine

i guess everyone's shopping for winter setups now, Doug. Maybe find some cheap OEM rims from other Ford model lines?

I've got an email into a guy on CL that says he has a set from an Edge. They are aftermarket but didn't say 17", 18" etc. Supposedly were his winter tires/wheels. I need to sell mine yet from my Buick.I know I won't cover the whole cost but hopefully I can offset it. I never know what to ask for stuff like that. I know you won't get out of it what you paid for it, but I don't want to give it away.

  2. I'm getting a squeal/noise from what I assume is the power lift gate arm when I close the rear hatch. 2014 SEL. It sounds like it is just in need of lube but before I squirt some good ol' WD40 on it, I wanted to see if there was an actual correct way to lubricate it. I don't think it is the struts making the sound.

  3. Twice over vacation on the 4+ hour drive to our vacation spot, the XM just started scrolling down on the channels. Or maybe it was up but it just started changing. The first time I hit ok, it stopped on the station that was displayed. The second time I just touched my preset and it stayed on the channel and stopped scrolling? Anyone have anything like that happen? I don't usually eat in the car, so I don't think a fry crumb was lodged in anything on the steering wheel. It's a 2014 SEL with sync2 and mft.

    Thanks.

  4. So I have a new to me 2014 Edge SEL fwd. It had under 8500 miles on it when I got it. It was part of an estate. The olm was telling me to change the oil and I was good with that as I wanted to go all synthetic in it anyhow. It was basically because it had been 18 months since an oil change but only about 1500 miles. No problem. I slide under it and I notice right away there was a small slotted screw that had a drip of fluid on it and some back on the under body. I was perplexed about what it was as I didn't see any drips on the garage floor and it had been with me about a week. So fast forward to today and I had an appointment to get some keys programmed and I wrote in the request to have that checked as well as I still had about a month left on bumper to bumper. Turns out it was the seal on the right intermediate shaft that was leaking. Looking at the receipt it looks like it was an involved repair with due tests, removing shafts etc. But it only listed 1.2 hours total and that was with a 25 mile road test. (I paid for the gas obviously). I'm not sure if that would have been covered by the powertrain warranty or not. Regardless I'm glad I had it checked out and fixed. So it might also be something for others to keep an eye on.

  5. Ok so I had 2 Ford branded 5-button keys and 2 Amazon supplied non-ford logo 5-button keys. They told me that they could get the Ford ones to work as they should but the non Ford's would only lock/unlock/start but not remote start. Fine, better than what I had before. Well now that I'm home, guess what all 4 work identical. The non logo keys went back together better. It's like the cover on the remote part of the Ford ones aren't latching. I messed with it a little but I guess I'll look more.

  6. Found a dealer semi local, about 20 minutes away, that had the antenna kit. I ran up today and picked it up. Talked to the parts guy and he said that was the last peice of hardware I needed. So far I'm about $225 into it for 2 genuine for 5 button remotes, the antenna and the hood switch. A local locksmith will cut them for $6 and try to program them. He says he is 50/50 with the programming. If it doesn't work, no charge. I probably will still need to go to the dealer to turn on the remote start but I want to see what software the locksmith uses first.

  7. Need a little direction. I have a 2014 Edge with power hatch. I've added the hood sensor. I have the Ford keys with the 5 button remote. Do I just need the antenna and connecting wire now? I've heard some conflicting info, not necessarily from here. I don't need or want the vss nor the phone remote. Just the ability to start my car from my office where I can see my car 40' away. I know I'll still need to get it programmed, I just want to have the hardware in place before I go to the deal as I need to have a spare remote anyhow. TIA.
