  1. I noticed there was no need to pull the dash out when changing the expansion valve.. however, I was replacing the evaporator core also so the dash needed to come out. I wouldnt recommend pulling the dash unless you have to for a leak. Took me like 4 days working off and on to change all the AC components (Condensor, compressor, expansion valve, evaporator core) put the dash back in.

  2. The bottom bolt is a stud with threads on both ends. To get it out used some big channel locks on the shank. You have get the other bolts out and the hard lines. Once that's done slide the Compressor towards the cross member and crank the bolt out.. you will start seeing threads after a little bit of cranking. Took about 5 mins.
