now I will plug in to connect my ms surface pro lte for voip calls

  2. Ok not able to connect my ms surface pro advanced to ford sync

    the message says not compatible

the crazy thing is that I first bought the 20130Ford escape with Microsoft Sync, and the problem was it connected to 73 Apple phones/tablets, all Samsung phones/ tablets and every phone other phone Except Microsoft's phones and tablets.

So today i buy the new Ford Edge and the new MS Surface Pro LTE and still 7 years later still no Bluetooth connection.

Has anyone actually connected any Microsft devices to Fords Bluetooth?

Yes I understand blackberry software runs the sync software today, but boy Microsoft and Ford must of had one serious disagreement 7-8 years ago.

  3. I have a 2017 edge titanium and I get a horrible natural gas smell when I get in my vechile in the morning.

Thus leading me to think the odor is either new from sitting overnight or I got used to the odor. As I was driving the 12 hours earlier.

Now the smell is so bad that I open all windows and i still feel like throwing up for the next 20 mins.

Does the smell biuld up overnight?

Perhaps when I park at the end of driving all day the smell seems gone but really I got used to the smell and then in the am I smell it strong again because it is a fresh odor to me.

I must say that I am more sensitive to natural gas smells that others.

This is different than previous posts as most other posts talk about smells entering the cab during exceleration. . This is not my case. This smell is just the first 20 mins of driving.

I have 1200 miles on my Edge and this was not a problem for the first 800 miles.

  4. driver assist discussions

I have set all options ON and at High levels and All alerts... testing for now.

Lane keeping is on and off at random. Is there something that disables it. Like cruise control on?

    Adaptive cruise control not working.

I set the alert distance to 4 bars infront. With in 1/2 car length ....no alert.

I have see the forward collison alert me in town / interctions. So that appears to be working

    Blind spot alerts work well

Backing up blind spot is working well

Some times turning on cruise control and setting the cruise speed, the criuse icon on dash does not turn green

I am expecting a forum for driver assist discussions ...am I missing such?

  5. New 2017 edge titanium owner looking for any hidden USB ports.

Ok I see the two UBS ports in the cubby in the front of the gear shifter. These two appear to be connected to the sync3.

The one in the deep storage compartment. Is this designed for a music flash drive?

And is that it just 3 USB's only?

Are there no usb ports for the back seat passengers?

Yes I do realize that I can put in a usb car charger, but was hoping for an assessible USB FOR the back.

    Am I missing some?

  6. Ok 3rd day of running Android Auto on starup near perfectly!

Now It takes just about one minute for the Android Auto to be up and running.

Only One of 10 restarts did I have to unplug and replug in my cell phone to kick it.

So Far Looking good .. now i just need to solve the recharging the cell issue.

My Wireless charging pad arrives in a few days.. which i will connect to my always on cigarette lighter.

Wish I could reboot the sync3. As near as I can tell the only way to resart sync3 to turn the vehicle off and then wait the 15 minutes.

Are there Any other solutions to restart sync3 when vechile is running?

  7. Can anyone suggest a Forscan scanner for my 2017 Ford Edge 2 liter.

Problem : currently my cell phone loses its charge during in car use and does not recharge when im out of my vehicle as the usb power is turned off 15 minutes after vehicle is turned off.

I have dedicated a Samsung S5 cell phone to be permanently attached to my usb port in my 2017 Edge.

I want adjust the delay of power off of the interior accessories from the default 15 minutes to 45 minutes so my always plugged Cell phone is charged or is maintained.

I understand that I may be able to change the value founpermanentlyd at BCM 07-39-01

If it is possibly that I can do this myself would be great..... it is way too much time to take this to dealer to adjust.

This will probably require resetting the power off delay value many times to findicate the optimium setting.

I will test the time delay settings to confirm it will adequately charge the phone.

So I will try setting 45 mins at first and ten 1.5 hours and then 3 hours if that is what it takes to charge my phone.

Ironically in my 2014 escape the power to the cigarette lighters never turns off. Now that was another problem for some high amp accessories like my weboost cell phone booster would kill my battery over 24 hours of non use. A power delay off function on at least one port would have been appreciated. :)

  8. Ok I have WON....ACHIEVED MY GOAL...

Android Auto is up and running AUTOMATICALLY 1 Minure after I turn my Edge on!

    Perfect Perfect Perfect!

    .

The Samsung s5 Neo has issues

The Samsung note 4 works evertime. So this is now my dedicated in the vehicle cell.. with wireless booster setup in a few days i should never need to touch my cell again and always have Google maps live.

    I smell victory!

  9. Could have had your local dealer hook up their IDS computer and change the Power Point timeouts from 15 minutes to always on.

Yikes. I did not know this was possible... darn!

If I had found out this delay could have been adjusted the all I would have done is keep power plugs on for 1 or 2 hours instead of just 15 minutes... now that would be enough time to charge/ maintain my cellphones.

  10. Thanks. With my current setup I am physically charging my cell over night with a direct connect 12 volt power supply.

Yes with my 2014 escape the interior plugs stayed on all night and my weboost cell phone boosterthat drew 5 volts 2.5 amps and would kill my battery in 1.5 days. I think that is

    12.5 watt hours.

Even charging 2 or 3 cell phones and a tablet or two was never enough draw to kill the battery in the escape.

Now with my new Edge with the always on wireless-charger draws approximately 0.05 watt-hours (Wh) per day

Unless the 16 watts hours needed to charge a dead cell, fortunately I really only need the always on charger to maintain the charge and the cell will have a good charge while driving.

Testing phase in a few days
