Gwelf, Ontario, Canada has had two Edgei and two MKX's for about 2 weeks now. We recently test drove the black loaded SEL.

Breach of contract. Can he just hold your deposit forever? What if Ford gives you delivery date of July 2020? Take him to small claims court for the $500 plus interest. You'll win easily.

 

Call your local news outlet. Call your area Ford dealer rep.

Absolutely agreed. It makes no sense for you to be penalized for Ford's inability to deliver your vehicle of choice according to a reasonable timeline.

Where is this Gwelf you speak of? And how does the brochure look?

The brochure is fairly meaty - lots of big pics, many needing two pages. Interesting that every exterior shot shows an Edge with a BAMR. One very major disappointment - for a vehicle that needs to be seen as competing with Hyundai and Mitsu, the warranty is only 3yrs / 60k.

So for me, I'm just waiting for my dealer to call me when their first two come in. I'll test drive. If I don't like the braking and rear seat room, I'll be looking for a FWD Montego. After test driving one of those of course...

They're arriving on the dealer's lots - the Ford dealer in Gwelf, Ontario has two. We walked right up to it, and spent a few minutes checking it out. Unfortunately the dealer was just closing, and the vehicle was locked, but we did manage to acquire a brochure.

When I started looking at the Edge, the Ford.com website offered HID headlights as a "yet to be priced option that would be available in the future". Out in the boonies of Ontario, Canada where I reside, they're considered beneficial (with proof) in order to cut down the chances of running into stray wildlife. ;-)

They're no longer an option on the Ford.com site, and I'm wondering if they are in the plans. At the (somewhat exhorbitant) price that the Edge will be priced at in Canada, I'd expect that HID headlights would be at least an available option. Can anyone comment on whether this is in the plans? This vehicle is still on my shortlist of 3, but HID is almost a must-have for me.
