I successfully disabled the AUTOLOCK feature on 2017 Edge Titanium. Autolock is the feature that automatically locks all doors when the vehicle exceeds 12 mph.

Not sure if this thread is still alive, but in case anybody needs it in the future. Attached is a list of the exact additional factory modifications for the 53G trailer towing option package. The entire document is applicable to the 2017 models and may be found here:

Does anyone have any real life towing experience of what the most significant risk would be if the weight limits were exceeded by a minimal amount - say 500 lbs? And what precautions should you take to minimize the risk of damage? Im assuming maintaining a slower speed and keeping a close eye on the engine temp? Would it be advisable to disable traction control?
