  1. Sadly, I think so. You can test the PCM coil drivers, see if beyond specifications. That is the best/easiest way to tell.

Sometimes it is a fuel injector at fault, but save that thought for another day.

thanks, i do have access to a testing tool of this caliber so i guess i am off to do that and then try and find a respectable / reasonableplace to order a pre-programmed unit.

  2. ok i am sure this has been covers thousands of time....i have seen the TSB for replacing the coil pack etc....for up to 8 years and 80K

i have a 2008 Edge limited AWD with 115K .... left work on friday and it started to skip, then throw a check engine light. waiting on the wife to pick me up, scoweed the interwebs and forum to see what it might be. Got it on a trailer and on the way home stopped by my local parts store for them to read the codes. had P0353, P0355, P0356 misfire codes.

i figured crap blow three COP's as that seems to be a commonish thing. Did not know if the plugs had ever been done and decided to just replace all the plugs and coils since they had to come out anyway. did pull the battery loose while doing the work...

After changing all the plugs and coils.... it is still skipping and has a check engine light again. Have not hit it with a code reader but based on what i am reading, am I looking at a dorked up PCM??

    thanks

  3. Sorry if this has been covered many times. i have searched the forum and not found what i am looking for.

i have recently purchased a 2008 Edge limited AWD. The dash display shows "Check Park Aid" and will not clear unless i hit the reset button. i have braced the car, engine off, key in on position, and listened to the sensors in the back. from what i can tell all four are sending echo request. i tried this with the engine running i have tried just can not hear. Not sure if this is because of engine exhaust noise and bad hearing or what. either way i am not hearing any alerts inside the car.

    Thanks,

    Shane
