Great! Here's one for you. My 2008 Edge Ltd said Satellite ready on the window sticker. I purchased a used SDARS on ebay. I plugged it into the harness at the rear of the Edge. The 6 CD head unit recognizes the unit and everything appears to be working. Sirius says I should be able to hear audio on channel 184 even if the module has not been activated but I have no audio on channel 184. Do I need to have the APIM reprogrammed to get audio?
What model number did you actually purchase? Is there an issue with SYNC with this?

a search on Google turned up a used kit on eBay for like $250... either way, 299 is cheaper than 400

It's $299.00 though and I think that's pretty expensive just to add Sat. radio. So no one knows if there's another way to do this?

Are there any 2008 Ford Edge owners with Sirius & Sync that would be willing to check out the model number of the Sirius module in their cargo area?

I've been reading through a ton of topics, but I haven't been able to get an answer to this somewhat specific question. I recently purchased a 2008 Edge Limited with SYNC and it didn't come with Sirius and I would like to add it. It sounds like I can go to a dealer and pay around $400 to get it installed, but I would like to save myself a few bucks and do it myself. What I can't seem to find the correct part number to purchase and do the install. Does anyone have the correct part number for this type of install, I know that SYNC complicates things but I do want to keep the SYNC functionality?
