Why I bought an SE and am going aftermarket.

Media is why I choose an SE so I could easily install an Android radio.

The metra bezel has arrived and is a very nice part.  It includes all the harnesses for a P-N-P to the factory harness.  For $300 it should.

The radio should have arrived today 12/23, but tracking says its in CA.

Nolan, I lived on the OR/WA coast for 11 years.  Coos Bay, Reedsport and Illwaco.  I hope you like rain, lots of rain.

I bought a Metra 99-5848ch off Amazon for $300 and a 7" Android radio off ebay for $175.

All should be here in the next 7 days, so I will have plenty to keep myself busy through the holidays.

The radio has NAV, BT, DVD, Screen Mirror, Backup Cam and a bunch of other features I will never use.

Im replacing a base system in a 2011 SE.  Im going to add a backup cam as well.

The 5848 kit replaced the 5829 kit, Metra says its a better kit and it comes with everything needed for the install.

I will post pics as I go along.

I ended up not buying the Limited.

The ESP is an absolute waste of money IMO.

Is there a difference between 11-12-13-14 seats, or are they the same?

Im looking for new seat upholstery and want to know if those years will interchange. 

I would name her Plain Jane, except we already had a Plain Jane.

Im going to install an Android radio, back up cam, leather seat upholstery and DRls for starters.  Maybe more later, maybe not.

I want 20in wheels, but these are mint and have new Michelins on them, so Im keeping them for awhile.

Didnt buy the Limited.  For less money I found a 2011 SE, one owner, no accidents, all maintenance done at the selling dealership.

Other than having no options other than the rear proximity alarm, its almost new.

So I gave up the cool stuff for a one owner, low mileage, mint condition Edge.

Do all Edges have the same springs or do ST and Sport have different springs?

Just curious.

Looking for opinions.

2011 Limited with Nav.  IDK what the oem Sony + nav entails.

I would prefer to yank it all out and install an Android double din.

Is that more trouble than its worth, or should I work with what I have?

My motivation for the android is that i want to be able to mirror the nav on my phone to the screen.

I bought a new Edge limited in 08, kept it a year and traded it after it was vandalized at my wifes work.

Im buying a new to me 11 Limited with 116k.  Its got the things I want, namely the push button start, leather and the vista roof.

Im retired now and this will be my around town DD, I just sold a 17 Mustang EB and I have a 16 Fusion EB that Im giving to my sister, she needs a car.  I love the Fusion, but Im ready for something different.

Just curious, but what was the concern you brought it in to the dealership for?

Cruise on at 70mph and it just quit.

My 08 Edge with 29,000 miles needs a new fuel pump and tank according to Ford. The dealer says that something was poured into the tank. Not covered under warrenty of course. Im finding it hard to believe that someone commited a random act of vandalism against my Edge. We are very careful about where we park.

Anyone else have fuel pump issues?

I have the chrome clad. I didnt get the vista, my usual Ford color is redfire but when I saw the copper I had to have it. The only Redfire was an SE and I drove that, but once my butt hit the leather in the Limited there was no going back. The only other Limiteds were white, they had the vista but next to the copper they looked pretty plain.

Whats up with the roof rails?

The owners manual says not to set anything on the vehicle roof, but there are no cross pieces. Do I have to buy the cross pieces from Ford?

I only received the carpet mats, which I removed 15 minutes after I got them. Was I also susposed to get rubber mats? I have an extra set of black mats from my 05 Mustang, I think those will fit, the camel looking ones are worthless IMO.

Awesome stereo, but I think a speaker change is coming in the future.

Picked up a Blazing Copper Limited on Wednesday afternoon. Got home tonight with 1500 miles on the clock.

If its in my garage and its got 4 wheels its a Ford, if its got 2 wheels its a Honda.
