  1. Overall, excepting 2 things, I am happy with the trans, they being the absence of a manner to select gears and the "sloppiness" of the lower gear shifting, which I'd like to be more "crisp/positive".

I am a bit surpised that nobody from Ford has offered any comments here.

If you don't like the smoothness of the tranny I suggest you look into a SCT program: One of many SCT Program Dealers

It will give you more direct shifts that you will really feel a bang each time.

  2. Hi, just wanting to know if anyone can help us track our Ford Edge. We ordered it 5 weeks ago, ordered from the dealership on May 28th 2007. This is the VIN number on our order form JM1BK143141145674.

Would be able to provide us any information on this?

    thanks

We are on two week summer shutdown now. You may have better luck asking at blueovalforums.

  3. retunes of the stock pcm. Wouldnt that also help increase mpg's? I know it usually helps increase HP but from what I have read in different forums the mpg may also increase?

I am definitely interested in what you are talking about. Keep us all posted. Thanks.

I had my car tuned on a dyno with the SCT program. Much more hp and better gas milage. But the best was the program for the auto trans. 1st to 2nd is much harder now and it won't drop into overdrive as soon, or having to drop back a gear searching for the performance when the throttle is added a little bit. Alternative Auto may soon be working on a program for the Edge.

  4. Nope, :stop: 9 total in the Edge. Re-read that sentence you quoted please.

    Anyways

Oops. Back in January I didn't know the Edge and Lincoln are different in many aspects. Now that I've seen a few ten thousands I know most of them.

It's not often I sit in a vehicle to listen to music anyway, as I was in the MKX to watch a movie. In my own vehicle I either listen for the traffic report on AM or open the windows and listen to the exhaust :)

To me any extra weight of speakers, body cladding, spoilers or such just slows the car down in the 1/4.

I'm talking about the THX system in the MKX. I've never seen one in the Edge but plenty of the Lincolns are ordered with it (14 speakers), where are the nine you are talking about? You couln't get the one in the middle of the dash or the ones in the d-pillars or the tweeters in the doors?

Purchasing an Edge after this date may cause feelings similar to being elated and that all other vehicles on the road are inferior. Studies show that this nirvana is directly related to your gluteus maximus being in contact with the seat of the afore-mentionted vehicle. Please use caution while operating as it has also been shown that other human senses may be affected from the whole driving experience.

    Ha,ha! Great one :hyper:

  6. Look guys... I distinctly remember, that the audiophile system stated........

a THX audio system with 14 speakers and a sub-woofer!

    Did I miss something??!!

9 speakers in 5 locations: 4 two-way speakers are mounted in the doors, and

    an 8" subwoofer

    9+4+1=14

I've listened to the system and for the money you can't go wrong compared with any aftermarket.

And yes, the interior is quiet.

  7. Thanks for the info. I should have never ordered from the dealer. I think I will look for a ford dealer to get a SEL with a roof and then push hte subject about getting my $500 back. Has anyone seen a black cloth interior? I saw a brocure yesterday that was black leather and it has a tan top and sides and it looked pretty sharp. I was wondering if my Charcoal interior might have that look or will it all be charcoal. My oder was a black exterior and charcoal interior.

I've seen the black cloth but in the SEL you can only get leather.

I'll be working in the plant on the 29th. Will get back to you on the 30th for sure!

What work are you doing on the 29th?

  8. Ford announces pricing for 2007 Edge

Oakville, Ontario - Ford has announced pricing for its all-new, Canadian-built 2007 Edge crossover, which will start at $32,999.

The Edge will be released in four models, starting with the SE in front-wheel drive for $32,999; the SEL starts at $35,999. In all-wheel drive, the Edge is priced at $34,999 in SE trim, and $37,999 in SEL trim. Available options will include $500 18-inch painted aluminum wheels, $320 reverse sending system, $1,700 Vista sunroof, $1,200 DVD entertainment system and DVD navigation system ($2,700 on SE, $2,300 on SEL).

All Edge models are powered by a 3.5-litre V6 with six-speed automatic transmission, and include standard Advance Trac stability program with roll stability control, and side and curtain airbags. The Edge will also share its platform with the Lincoln MKX; both will be built at the company's plant in Oakville, Ontario

Well I won't be lining up to purchase an Edge. The highups have screwed us Canadians again. $33K for a base Edge? With the dollar right now that's about $6K more than if you bought one in the USA. I smell rebate incentive plans on the horizon. :sos:
