I believe RSC is only on SUVs and CUVs and uses an extra sensor to gauge the roll. You don't need it in a car.

I tried it again on a very slippery surface[ ice] and by punching the gas the light came on!

My Edge has studded winter tires so it would have to be driven to the extreme to activate the ESC.

Nice to know this vehicle is great for snow or ice conditions.

We have a lot of snow in this area and my 2007 Edge works fine .The manual says that during ESC events the sliding car icon will flash.

Mine has never flashed and I have never felt any deceleration or vibration that it is working.

Has anyone else noticed that the icon does not flash ????

I had same problem with my 2007 sel.Ford issued bulletin to correct it. I took my car in tis past summer and they driiled out hole for the stem.So far this Winter it has been fine.

We got our 2008 Edge Limited in the middle of November and we love it too! Just wondering if anyone had put Winter tires on their Edge and what kind would be recommended? Information on brand, size and price would be apprecited.

My tire dealer could not find snow tires in size it came with 245/60/18.

he found similar size in Conti Ice size 255/55/18.My speedometer reads 5 % slow now but these studded Contis are Great! My Edge will go thru almost anything. They ran about $ 200 each.

Hey guys, it could be worse. My 2000 F150 has the outside temp gauge too, but it is usually about 10 degrees too warm. According to a couple different dealerships it seems the brilliant engineers put it too close to the engine and it gets extra heat from that.

 

And yes, my Edge is high like everyone else's, but to be high by a 1 or 2 degrees I'm extremely happy with that. :hyper:

I agree that the thermometer shoul be accurate.

This is a safety issue!

When you get that close to freezing it should be a warning for black ice or freezing rain.

I know you should be cautious but an accurate thermometer is another aid.

I'm getting P245/65R17's and putting them on 17 inch rims. They will be the same circumference as the 18 inch originals.

I had same problem finding P 245/60 R 18 snow tires.The tire shop found Conti Contact ice [studded or not studded] size P255/55R18.He said they would be same height.

Just put them on yesterday but they seem ok.Speedometer is reading about 5 % slow.{60 mph is really57]I don't know how accurate speedo was before changing tires.

I got my Edge in March and although the gas mpg is baddddddddd two new problems have surfaced.

There is a rattle coming from back seat area that the dealer can't find.

Also on AM radio station there is a lot of static that increases when the fan is turned up.

The dealer checked connections etc but can not fix it.

They tried the radio on another Edge and it did the same thing.

Other cars do not have the same problem.

Can someone offer any suggestions????????
